I've read the series, it's a very good look at clan structure and different forms of societal groupings.

Well, either I'd be at work or at home. If at home, wait for my dad to arrive at my house then me and my family would make our way to the everglades. If at work, well. I'd unplug from whatever radio channel I was currently plugged into. Make my way to the armory. Load up on ammunition, and arm myself as heavily as possible while still being mobile. I'd probably steal the 1970's chevy p/u that is in the back lot, pick up my family and make our way to the everglades

Arkansashunter I am also lucky that I live in a mostly rual area so if needs I can drive around any broke down cars however if i was say in charlotte at a Panthers game when something like that hit. that would be a different story entirely. it would be much harder to drive you would have to use "alternate roads" like power line right of ways and such to get around. Though the EMP threat is minor it is a possibility i keep in mind for planning.

If the SHTF we should be as lucky as Mike and Juniper in that everyone and everything that they needed to get started came to them.

Yeah...but they paid their dues, too! eating "Eternal Soup" for a year and putting up with the antics of their followers...

I think an EMP is very possible but maybe limited to a bigger city like New York.
And if it isn't limited I hope it's not during muzzle loading season for BEAR and your useing Thompson Centers NEW Electronic Fire Control System rifle. LOL
Whats Mooseman 684 signiture say ? LMAO

Think I would send the kids down to the nieghbors and ask if their satalite TV was out. Open a cold beer and kick back on the porch wondering what was going on. Oh and thank goodness I painted my own house. Maybe drive down to the gas station and see if there was any news. ONce I heard the news I guess I would feel pretty bad for my friends and fammily that live in the big city and try to get in touch with them on the phone if it worked. later I guess I would talk to the neighbors and see what they thought. Maybe send someone to the nearest town (about 2000 people) and see if there was any word.

no doubt Dallas, no doubt. although every now and again a guy pops in and stirs things up and can be pretty entertaining. there was a couple early when i joined G&G that were pretty funny. one in particular would just spew nonsence and leave me laughing myself silly, cant remember his tag though.
