I carry around lifeboat rations:

Mainstay 3600 Emergency Food Rations - Survivor Industries

They'll keep you going until better comes along.

You all gotta start watching other movies besides "Red Dawn". You're starting to freak out.

Good book. I read it as a teenager. Well worth the read from a wilderness survivalist perspective.

I live in the country. I've done a whole lot of what you guys call survival. We called it living or having fun. Most of ya'll need to take that survival pack, go out to where you think you're gonna be and stay one week. You'll pretty quick learn what you need and what you need to get rid of at the next gun show.
I have a little bug out/get home pack. It has enough crap to last me about 2 or 3 days. That gets me home, where all my living day to day stuff is.
And just so I know for sure, what are ya'll expecting to survive?
Living totally off the land is damned hard and unless you're in a group it'll likely not happen.

I agree. Go out and test your gear in good weather, non emergency situation.
