Wats in your kit?

Not talking weapons or SHTF pack. Just what you take when you are going to be away for a day or two.

When explaining this please let us know where you are in the world so we can understand the packout.

Me? Im in NC, lil black bear are the worst we run into here so .357 mag is all for protection.

But I carry a CLP bottle full of gas. A fire bundle, Fire piston, Two stripped down MREs, some limited first aid stuff (the chem in some of these little things works great for fire), a thousand yd of 100 lb fishing line (works great for many applications), a few hooks, and a tin filled with cotton swabs soaked in alcohol.

I'll tell you working in West Africa is no Vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(working in SE Asia, that might be considered a vacation, you need even more condoms there, and flavored ones go down well!)

How can I "soar with the Eagles", when I'm working with such "Turkeys"!

Oh you mean my going out hill-walking, huntin, poachin, shootin, fishin pack?

I carry a belt pack consisting of one of my old Army Mag pouches in which there is (if I can remember rightly now).......a compass, a firelighting kit (flint & steel with cotton wool & potassium permaganate), a compressed survival blanket, a mini-flare kit, a couple of single edged razor blades, a length of para cord, a whistle, couple of condoms (unflavored & unlubricated), a mini-strobe light (& 2 spare batteries) and a mini first-aid kit. Less than 1lb in total. I usually also carry a small locknife in my pocket. Only thing I have ever needed to use in the last 30 years was the compass (when the Scottish mist came down and totally disorientated me).

I have my 1st Aid Kit, water, canned nuts, canned meat, canned crackers, rope, tin cup matches and lighters, space blanket, knife, leatherman tool and soap. I have enough to get home if I'm only 3 days or less away. I don't travel much except by horseback. I'm always armed so I don't consider that and ammo part of the kit.

I am about to get a new vehicle (a Jeep), into which I will load a more permanent emergency kit, so there really isn't anything in there right now.

I wear dress attire to work, so I can't have stuffed pockets really. However, I keep a small shoulder bag (a little larger than a portfolio) that has basic things like a flashlight, a bit of food (usually something resealable like nuts or something), I usually have water on me, a small pocket knife, a poncho (need to find my umbrella), and some deodorant and socks.

Nothing special yet, heh.

What I take camping. Mess kit, pocket camp stove, axe, one extra pair of clothes, headlamp, Mag-Lite, sleeping bag (0 degree Slumberjack Mummy, tent, poncho, fishing gear, matches etc... And then of course I keep my guns close to the camping gear, and the camping gear has ammo for all three tucked in there.

Turbo...how did you come across a fire piston?

I made it. If you do not want to take the time to make one, you can order them online.

I have an oversized camelbak that has several pockets. It all fits in there with room to spare.

Turbo made a fire piston?! Very cool!

I take a mini bug out bag along with me in my car. Mostly stuff that I got at wal-marx. I have four sealed plastic containers. One with medical stuff, travel size motrin, asprin, gauze, cortizone cream, etc... one with camp supplies fire starter, lighters, kindeling, compass, etc... one thats full of powerbars, and oatmeal. Finaly one that has cold weather stuff like handwarmers, and vehicle stuff like tire plugs. I then have a 5th smaller one that holds candles and 9mm ammo. this all fits into a multi-cam 7"x20"x9" bag that I bought on ebay for cheap from China. It's a perfect size for a vehicle. I put it all together this winter as a vehicle bag, and just used some of it this week when a storm hit our area.

If your interested in the bag type in transformers camo bag on E-bay and it will take you right to it. It took a long time to ship but it's a neat set up.It even has a MOLLE attachment straps.
