| Your BOB? Is the purpose of your Bug Out Bag to get you to your stuff/hidey hole or is it what you expect to start your 'new life' with? Mine is trickly to get me home. I have no doubt that within a couple of weeks I'll have a small village of people gathered together to survive.

| I kinda thought that what you carry and where you plan on going might be different. I may have gotten confused. I was reading an article about the Russian Army Mutiny, they ran out of diet coke and demanded resupply.

| "The Mountains" is probably the only place you could actually get away with staking your own claim and living off what you can find. Stay quite though. If the thard times are long, you will have to outlive all the people who thought they could raid the Walmart camping section and live in the hills too.

| My GHB (get home bag) is designed to allow me to walk the ten miles (more, if I have to detour the 'bad' part of town) to get home, assuming my vehicle is kaput. Usually this will be my bike. So, I have a belt&harness rig in my sidebags, and everything in various pouchs that attach to it. Two one-quart GI canteens, a SS canteen cup, a couple cans of sardines, a couple enegry bars, basic survival gear. I keep a small rucksack in the car - with similar items. Also, when things are looking hinky, I carry my MountainBike on the car rack. I'm never more than fifteen miles from home with the car - it isn't the most reliable car..... ![]() I have NO remote BO area to go to. I bug in if the situation gets bad. The ONLY reason I BO is to get the heck out of Dodge for a Katrina-level hurricane. I'll be back after it clears. If I do have to BO for good, I'll be a well-equipped refugee. ![]()

| We have GHB's in our vehicles. My job has me well armed so I don't keep a weapon in my GHB but my Wife has one in her's. She has the longer route of about 9 miles, mine is only 6 miles. Something would have to be incredibly wrong for us to leave our home but we do keep bags in case that does occur. |

| It will get me to my designated safe secondary location. That or to a place of egress to my secondary location.
