Thumbs up Efficient and less expensive way for keeping warm in winter months...

rocket stove mass heater
in a nutshell:
  • use 5 to 10 times less wood
  • far less smoke
  • the heat from one fire can last for days
  • you can build one in a day and half
  • folks have built them spending less than $20

My floor would collapse with that monstrosity where it would have to go...I was sad that they didnt show it in full operation ( no smoke)and you still have to vent the smoke using a chimney ouside of your cabin...
I can accomplish almost the same thing by using a double Barrel stove kit...

I truly like the concept. And if I lived in a cabin or an adobe home, I wouldn't mind having one.

But it looks like it would be fun to build. Definitely worth hanging onto the plans in case one has to live outside due to SHTF?

And for a home/cabin,garage even, this one looks really sharp and was well done and I approve. lol

So... you don't even have to vent any gases or smoke outside? Is that what I'm getting from the end of that video?

Rich,

Another option...

...lighter weight, highly efficient and multi-use.

Those double-barrel stoves work great! I worked in a machine shop once that had one. It was great when the cheap s.o.b. that owned the place would actually buy some wood for it.

OK, I liked both of the double barrels shown in the video. But since looking for one of them would more than likely get me in trouble, I'll have to look for the other one. And the more I see one of them, the 22/.410 that is, the more I want one.

My parents had a Buck stove fireplace insert with a ceramic catalyst. After the fire got to 400 degrees (had a thermometer in it) you engaged the catalyst. The inside stove temperatures got up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit! Outside, you couldn't tell they had a fire going. If you looked real real close, you could see a little bit of what I can only describe as vapor coming out of the chimney.

Edit: Oh, and load it with wood before you wen to bed and you still had wood burning in the morning when you woke up! Cut down on the amount of trips I had to take to the wood shed for sure!!

Smile Bixby's Biomass

Flexiblity; using what is natural to your neighborhood

U.S.A. Geothermal - Bixby Biomass Fueled Pellet Burning Stoves

Bixby’s Biomass – fuel pellet stove saves your energy dollars. All Bixby Energy Systems use their patent pending MAX-FIRE Technology which burns corn/biomass products a 99.7% combustion efficiency meaning 100 pounds of corn will burn down to 1 pound of ash. Bixby Bio-Fuels generates more energy per dollar than fossil fuels. Their Max Yield energy (oxygen enrich) furnaces in various applications are capable of providing heating, cooling and electrical generation with 99.7% combustion efficiency.
Bixby Stove Product Features
Automatic Starting: No more fooling with wood pellets and fuel gel to start your fire. Just push the “on” button and the stove automatically dispenses the necessary amount of corn to the fire pot and ignites it in minutes.
Push Button Adjustment of Heat Levels: You can adjust the output from 8,000 to 50,000 BTU’s simply by touch selecting any one of the 8 settings. Also capable of attaching to a thermostat. No complicated dials or levers to worry about. 275 CFM Convection fan blows heat into a large area evenly.
“Ferris Wheel” Feeder System: When cobs, stones, and nails jam auger type systems in other stoves, it burns out the motor. Bixby’s unique feeder design prevents that from happening.
Large Bin Holds 106 Pounds of Corn: The stoves large hopper means you won’t have to refill it as often. The bin will accept corn, wood pellet and bio-fuel pellets.
Self-Cleaning Fire Pot: The Bixby system is designed to burn corn completely, resulting in a small “Ash Wafer” which it dumps periodically. Because of the unique two level pot system, it can do this without interrupting the burn.
Computer Control System: The Bixby Max-Fire is a thoroughly computer controlled stove. The computer program can be reprogrammed
