It tightens my chest and concerns my mind that every traditional firearm that gets "tactical" trend will be on the next ban list. Beware of wishes of "cool" factor.

I might have to get the 464 version, just for the threaded 16" bbl (maybe put one of those pokey AK muzzle devices on it)... but that plastic buttstock has got to go!

Looking at some things they've come out with.

I take Mosseberg does not drug test their design and marketing people?

Or is their HR Dept actively recruiting people out of the line going into a rehab facility?

I'm all for rational upgrades to firearms and innovation but this is neither, IMHO.

That's where I'm at, Ed.

I could even go for the rails on the forend, but . . . the overall look is just too cheesy, and the stock looks too fragile to be on a lever gun. It may be perfectly practical. . . but I don't know for what. . .

To me, innovation for a lever gun is .308 or .223 caliber, all stainless/weather resistant parts (lightweight synthetic stock) and storage in the butt.

This other crap. . . yeesh. . .

Yep a solid synthetic stock and a stainless rifle would be much more practicle and durable IMHO.

Even if they threaded the barrel for one of the common thread patterns for a muzzle device but just put on a thread protector it wouldn't be pushing it.

In going to theit website I can't even see a wood stocked version unless I'm misssing something.

the "chainsaw-style forend grip" makes me laugh, i guess it makes it easier to hip fire & spray & pray...

I'd rather have it with a normal vertical foregrip than that bulky deal.
