I re-finished the wood and happened to have a pistol scope lying loose so I bought an S&K mount and just now finished bore sighting the critter. Next comes some long overdue range time to see how it does. The mount was a precision fit. Scope's a Bushnell Trophy XLT Pistol Scope 2-6x 32mm Multi-X Reticle Matte.
This rifle probably came to the U.S. in the early 60's and one of the owners sported it out. All of the military markings were sanded off in the process. There are no import markings to speak of.
At the time, I knew nothing of Swiss rifles, but it's straight pull action and tiger striped wood found a new owner. If you can steer it, it will do its part.
This pic is after our first outing. It shot a tighter group with GP-11, but I couldn't find the pic. Privi Partizan didn't do too bad either.
Very nice wood. It's hard to imagine why anyone in their right mind would do a 1/2 way sporter number on that 1911. Full conversion of the stock and caliber to .308 I can understand, but.........
Great rifle, great wood, darned shame.

I'd never do that either. I'm just pointing out that a very large number of 1911's were converted to .308 and sporterized in the 60's and 70's by Golden State arms.

Well, the cops finally cleared out long enough for me to have a little trigger time with my darned shame of a bubba and my newly acquired .45 Blackhawk.
The Blackhawk did a poor showing and their weren't any big fat Indians around to shoot at except me. The thing shot like a scattergun with the hand loads meant for my short barreled BH. So it's back to the drawing board for that one.
I did manage a better showing with the Swiss miss. I shot at several types of targets on the 100m range, trying to adjust the scope from my lousy bore sighting job that was way way high and to the left. I started out firing 174 SP Priva Partizan, then went to a reload for my K11 and ended with the GP-11. I'm glad no one was around to see how poorly I did.
Now I can toss this old boat oar into the bottom of the boat.
