Swissrifles1, Great collection! I've been trying to find a 1911 carbine for a while now. I missed a chance to get one at a gunshow a year ago and have been kicking myself ever since. The guy was selling it for $235 and I haven't been able to find one since for less than $375.

Nice Vett. What caliber do those shoot? How old are they?

The Swiss Vetterli uses a 10.4x38Rmm cartridge. This was a first a blackpowder, then smokeless rimfire cartridge. It was called the 41 Swiss in the U.S. American companies loaded this cartridge until about 1942. I have read that there was also a center-fire version loaded also in Europe. It fired a 334gr lead bullet at around 1350 fps.

There are ways to convert this rifle to fire center-fire cartridges based on altering .348 Winchester cases.

This Swiss Vetterli was used from 1869 to 1889. My rifle is an 1871 model.

Beautiful K31 there. Doesn't sound like you did too bad either on price.

Nice rifle bacon. I made my own frog for the bayonet I bought. Patterned it after the original, but it is slightly different.
