| Add me to the K31 party...
Joined it just this evening. Gotta love the interwebz, saw a gun on a local traders board, haggled via email, and settled the terms and took possession all in one day. All matching K31 mfg. in 1951 serial 962xxx. ![]() ![]() For those of you who keep track of market prices on these... Rifle + 120 Rds of PRVI + 60 rds of GP11 + 100 PRVI brass + RCBS reloading dies for $320.00 Heading to the range tomorrow AM to give this swiss gal a test drive. EDIT: Question, I can't find an import stamp, where do these tend to be located? I'm used to the damn billboards on the Mosins on the left side of the receiver. Or did this one swim across before they became mandatory? Last edited by Ironsight; 06-29-2009 at 11:44 PM. |

Gun shoots well, in my opinion it kicks as hard as a MN 91/30 from prone. Trigger is the best I've ever pulled on a milsurp. Fun times ahead |

I think the K31 kicks more than the 91/30. It could all be a figment of my imagination, which I wouldn't necessarily rule out, but IMO, its got a bit more punch. I don't find that 91/30s kick at all. The Mosin carbines sure do, and the Steyr M95 by far, IMO, is the hardest kicking milsurp I have shot. But I'd have to agree, the triggers on the K31s, are just butter. THE best for milsurp rifles unmodified, hands down.

The recent K31 imports have the import markings on the receiver like the Mosins. Some were marked on the right side of the rear sight base. The older imports had the markings on the under side of the barrel below the front sight. Those imported before 1968 probably do not have any import markings. For me the felt recoil of the K31 is harder than the 91/30 but much less then the Mosin carbines. The only other milsurp rifle I own that may equal the K31 trigger is the 1911 Swiss rifle. Mine breaks at under 3lbs. I've read comments by some 1911 owners that the trigger is too light for sanctioned matches. If you like the K31s take a look at the 1911s and the K11. The K11 is very similar to the K31 in length but the butt stock is slimmer at the pistol grip. |
