I was just thinking of the feasibility of converting a MN to .44 Mag. If I could find one with a bad barrel for cheap maybe it would be worth looking into more seriously. The Remington 788 and Ruger 77/44 just cost way too much. Thought about it a little more, and since my M38 is sitting here next to me and I have some empty .44 Mag cases, I loaded the magazine and tried to work the bolt. I believe it would work with little more than a rebarrel and follower modification. But I would hate to ruin a good milsurp. Last edited by matt760; 08-25-2009 at 03:15 AM. |

Now thats different. Looks more like a Model 1911 than a K31,take a close look at the right side of the receiver in the vid. I have a friend who has a 44 mag lever action,I guess that would be very simular.

The little beer barrel bolt handle looked like the redishbrown color of the 1911 pattern but the Mag.did not stick out as far (maybe cutdown and formed),the K-31 mag fits flush and the grasping nob is aluminum. The model 1899 held 12 rounds and locking lugs were just ahead of the trigger and had a longer reciever than the K-31.Not sure what language they were speaking, could make out a few words and almost sounded Spanish but some of the old Italian dialect is simular or before I get jumped on almost simular. The rifle had a nice crack sound to it there was alot of wind blowing and I could not make out what he was shooting at.Was he hitting what he was shooting at?

I'm thinking along the same line as Travis. Sounds Italian to me and it is indeed, as noted, one of the Swiss languages. If you hit one of the icons at the bottom of the video there are other videos including one of a .22LR Schmidt Rubin and one of an STG 57. I assume that that is a rare item outside of Switzerland, which makes it more likely that these guys are in Switzerland. Surely there is some one who can translate.
