PT-111 Trigger Pull

Does anyone know if the PT-111 can be smithed to change the trigger pull. I really like everything about my PT-111 except the trigger....long pull and hard. I went to the range yesterday (shortest range is 25 yards) and I stink with my 111. I continually shoot way way low. I'm not a competion grade shooter, but I've also got a Buckmark Camper with open sights and I'm very accurate with it. Agreed, it does have 1 3/4" more barrel, but I wouldn't think it would make such a big difference. Maybe it does though.
