| Is the 24/7 pro .40 the right gun? Thinkin about buyin a 24/7 .40 for a carry/home defense gun. I have been reading about a lot of people talking about them jamming and dont want it to jam when I really need it. Most of the jams are happening with the .45 but I was just wondering if this would be a good purchase. I dont plan on spendin more than $450 on a gun and am looking for a reliable comfortable gun. anybody? |

| Some of these replies are troubling and I hope the owners will work with the manufacturer to correct the problem. Accepting jamming as a somewhat normal experience is not valid for a gun upon which you might someday stake the life of yourself and/or your family. The good old rattling army .45 of WW2 may have not been the most accurate of sidearms but it functioned in combat where it mattered. |

| I love my 24/7 .45. It points naturaly, and after I got rid of the bad mag I haven't had any more problems. |

I just bought a 24/7 OSS that shot low and left for me. With my Kimber 1911 i can get decent groupings at 10 to 15 yards, but the OSS just would not do it for me. A fellow shooting with me that day who happens to be a local policeman tried it and got the same results, yet he can take my 1911 and rapid fire some really nice groups. So while most of the time it is shooter error, now and then it is the gun...

| 24/7 Pro .40sw I love my Taurus 24/7 Pro. I've put over 500 rounds thru mine without one hiccup. The accuracy starts to fade after 35 or 40 feet. Very happy with the gun. Easy to disassemble and clean. The sights are nice, easy target aquisition. Nice grips. Alot of nice features. Every once in awhile though, the mag gets "caught up" when trying to eject, it'll come out, just feels tight. Only thing I can find "wrong" with it. |

| Ignore the Taurus haters on this ONE I just reached 1000 rounds last week, so i finally decided to clean it for the first time. Yeah I'm bad about cleaning my firearms. Anyways through 1000. NO JAMS. NO MISFIRES. NO PROBLEMS! The trigger is a little looser than most hanguns I've shot, but this is a quality firearm. I own the 9mm and consistanly score 100's at 7 yards, and in the high 90's at 14 yards. |

It takes a lot of shooters a lifetime to realize this. Low hangun shots are the result of jerking the trigger. Most will blame the handgun. Once you realize its you, not only will you become a better shooter but, rapid fire (learning to catch the sear and squeeze again) becomes second nature.

| The sights on these guns shoot dead on, not 6'oclock, just as many others, but so many think all guns should shoot a 6'oclock. See if these two items will help. Correct sight is on left. |

Am I just not looking in the right places or is this still to new a product? I was just wanting to spend a little money on the toys, night sights, lasers etc. |

| Member | Taurus PT 24/7 Pro in .45 I have a Taurus PT 24/7 Pro in .45. Best auto I've ever owned. Had a jamming problem...until I realized that to function properly, 185-grain or lower just doesnt cut it for this gun. Why even HAVE a .45, and then shoot 9mm rounds in it? A .45 aint the gun for everyone....It's a lot of pistol. Had to get used to the Heinie/Straight 8 sighting system. (You gotta hold dead on instead of a 6 o'clock hold, else you be shootin' low) I practice with, (and carry) 230-grain Hydra-Shocks, or Cor-Bon. It works for me. A little more expensive to practice with, but if the SHTF, I don't want any suprises, when I pull that trigger. What's that saying...."Train like you fight"?......Nuff Said. Happy shootin, ya'all ![]() |
