| Senior Member | Ive got a 24/7 in 9mm. I wanted the forty but got the nine just in case my wife ever had to shoot it. I love it. Ive only put about 100 rounds through it so far with no faults. I found it fit my hand better than the rest. I also like the safety. MUCH easier to come down rather than down and forward. |

| Super Moderator ![]() | A friend's 45 model jammed a good bit using factory and other mags (mainly the others). May have been due to the bullet choice. If so I would expect models smaller than 45 to feed more reliably due to feed geometry.

| Member | My wife has a 9mm 24/7 DAO pistol that she enjoys shooting. The "ribber" grip feature fits her small hand well. We've fired various brands of factory and handloaded ammo through it, and the only brand of factory fodder that caused a repeated failure to feed problem was MagTech range ammo. She uses Speer 115 grain GDHP ammo for carry. It's accurate, controllable, and has sufficient power to get the job done should she ever need to. For practice, she uses my handloads that are loaded to a comparable power level, along with light target loads for fun. |

Also, how is the grip angle on the gun ? I am used to shooting 1911's and guns with similar grip angles such as SIG. I find them natural pointers and if I draw a 1911 or SIG from concealment with my eyes closed, my muscle memory puts both right on the target. Glocks for example are so steep in angle, with the same draw I end up aiming way low.

I like the so-called "ribber" grips on the 24/7. When I take hold of a pistol to shoot, I try never to shift my grip because this will invariably affect the point of impact downrange. I use a Hogue rubber grip with finger grooves on my 6" Ruger Security-Six .357 Magnum revolver. If I choose to fire SA I thumb back the hammer with my supporting hand to help avoid shifting my grip. I also installed a Hogue 'Handall' grip on my S&W Model 915 9mm pistol for better grip control... BTW, even though I like the way the 24/7 handles, I prefer my 915. My wife has small hands, and she thinks the 24/7 is very comfortable to shoot. My hands are average in size. If you have large, beefy hands, you might not like the shape of the grip on the 24/7. I've only fired one Glock in .45 ACP before. Can't say I was impressed. But, obviously, Glocks are very popular. My only complaint concerning the 24/7 is the hi-cap mags. They are literally a pain to load with just your fingers and thumbs. This is why my wife and I use an HKS Model 940 speedloader to help with this chore.

| Member | I have the 24/7 9mm i use winchester, remington and cci ammo in and and havent had 1 single jam or problem with it. The frist time i used it i dumped about 500 rounds through it and i have never gone to the range and used less then 100 rounds per session in it. Its been a good gun for me nothing to complane about and i love that rubber grip on it as i have small hands. My son in law has the 24/7 pro model and hes happy with it as well. This is the frist i have herd of problems with the guns. However i also have a 25 auto from taurus and it dosent take holo points very well at all lots of jamming with that gun |

| Senior Member ![]() | I have run 7 to 8 hundred rds thru my 111 Millinium Pro without any problems. Accurate, fun , feel good gun. Was going to pick me up a 24/7 at my local gun guru last week, but says he is ordering in the new 800 series now. Don't know much about them, the Taurus site says they are modeled after the 24/7 OSS Military pistol. May wait to check that baby out. |

| Registered User | Pt 24/7 pro .40 s&w I am biased about my gun because it is my first purchase. I love it and I can not say enough things about it. Any jams with the gun have been because of my mistake (i.e., not pulling slide back all the way). I have only put about a 100 rounds through it and it is doing great. The only downfall is Taurus says not to use +p ammo. not that I was going to anyway, but it would be cool to have the option like with the glock. |

| Registered User | Thanks Arkansas, and my gun jammed Thanks Arkansas Hunter. I believe that I will be a constant visitor to this message board. I have found plenty of helpful insight and opinions' but here is a lengthy update to my gun PT 24/7 pro .40 s&w for you to consider... Well, I went to a friends farm on Sunday and shot another 75 rounds and the gun did jam. The slide would lock after every shot... I would have to either manually oush the slede forward to load the next bullet in the mag or shake the gun violently forward. (I am sure there is something in a safety video warning not to do this) I made sure there was plenty of oil on the rail, disassembled the gun several times... and then the gun completely got jammed so I could not take it apart. Finally, after words of sympathy from my buddies and several curse words I got the gun to unjam so I could take it apart again to inspect what was happening. The spring had become uncoiled at one end. The part where the spring was cut and placed on the (what ever the spring goes on) had somehow become bent so that it was not flush with the other part of the spring. So 10 minutes with needle nose pliars, more curse words, and positioning the spring so that the part sticking out was facing the barrell rather than the slide, the gun now works fine. Still, if my life had depended on it the last thing I would have thought was "stupid piece of sh;t!" I have talked to gun buddies and gun store owners since then and they pretty much told me that Taurus made a good gun but they were notorious for jams, and they highly reccomended that I use my revolver .38 special for home defense. So after the long rant, I can only say, I would still reccomend the gun because of all of the pros, but just be aware that you might have a problem with it jamming if you are not carefull. Do you think that I should send it back to Taurus? I hope I didn't void the warranty when I worked on it? |

| Senior Member ![]() | Blahdemary What you experenced with your pistol is unacceptable !!!! You need to take advantage of there Life Time warranty, so send it back and maybe after they fix what ever caused the spring to get bent, want happen again. You shouldn't have had to fix it to began with !!! Lets see what there service is like and please let us know your results. Thanks for your post...I almost ordered one yesterday while I was out trying to find a store that had or could order a shotgun I've been wanting. Thanks A.H |

| Registered User | 24/7 Pro I say one more time, I love my Taurus 24/7 Pro 45 acp. No jams, no misfires and very accurate. I love the feel of it. The weight distribution feels " right" if you know what I mean. For the price I was skeptical. I bought it because truthfully I had heard so many mixed revues I finally decided to try for myself. Boy, am I glad I did. I even have to say that my Taurus has replaced my Smith & Wesson 45acp as my choice for carrying. I get the same stopping power, accuracy, better "feel" and 5 extra rounds compared to my Smith and Wesson 45 acp model 457. |

| Registered User | 24/7 Pro .40 S&W 4" Barrel I agree with the mags being a pain to load, I recently purchased the 24/7 Pro in .40 S&W with 2 15 round mags. I tested the draw similar to another post, but instead of closing my eyes, I just looked at the target, looked away and drew, it turned out to be a natural draw without having to be concerned with where my hand fit the grip. I have only encountered two issues so far, the first being the initial take down and reassembly, the manual is missing a very important part of this process... 1. Lock the slide back pull the take down pin....In fact I have to manually pull the slide back past lock (where it rests on the catch) and then pull the pin. 2. Release lock and manually slide the slide forward....they forget to tell you to ensure the weapon is empty and you have to pull the trigger to allow the slide to slide forward, since it was cocked when you set the catch in #1. After pulling the trigger, the slide comes off easily. When reassembling: 1. reverse from take down. You have to pull the trigger again to get the slide all the way back to the catch, the biggest issue is that you need to ensure the slide is to the rear, and you might have to stick your finger (or something else) in the ejection port to push the barrel forward to get the take down pin back in. I choose to manually hold the barrel along with the catch to ensure I continue having 10 fingers. As to loading the mags...the first 13 round are easy, the 14th, a bit snug....but #15? A royal pain in the a$$! I am looking into a speed loader to assist. Other than the two issues I have listed, I am very pleased with this gun. But then again, the only pistol I have to compare it to was the Navy issue M9 which was heavy and poorly balanced. But this 24/7 is pretty accurate considering I have only been shooting pistols for about 5 years now. |

| Member | I have a 24/7 Pro SS .40 and love it. I have never had a moments trouble out of it. The Ms. and I both used it on our CCL test and even she loves it. She is a brand new shooter and shot a 244 out of a possible 250. What's bad is I only shot a 246, ![]() |

| Registered User | I hit the target 4-5 inches low off the center at 15 feet for the first three times in the range with the 9mm Taurus PT 92. I think I got problem with the trigger control. Today, I hit the the bull eye several time at 20 feet, much better result with my trigger squeeze. I heard many people say the Taurus shoots low, I used to think like that before, today I think it 's not the gun that shoot low, it's the person that shoots. |
