That might draw attention also, but at my range people often shoot air guns...so a big fireball coming from my hands turns more heads

it doesnt matter what others are shooting .
the deafening roar from a LARGE bore compensated handgun will make people twitch....
i found it fun to set up my .22 rifle for bench shooting and then pull that .454 out and let one go.
they always come over and say what IS that?

ok here are some groups.
i am a rotten pistol shot but this was at 25 yds.
at 100 yds. i was able to hit a rock about 2ft.x3ft. consistently.
not everytime but enough to let me know that with practice i could get dangerous with this .
hmmmm how bout i scope this thing? hmmmm.....

Taurus OEM scope mount is about 50 bucks. Fits weaver rings. I've been thinking about it myself.

*Sigh*...I've no time to bring my large-frame new Taurus to the range. Got that Model 608 .357 Magnum and I still need to post the pics and adjust the sights a bit (it seems to aim a bit to the left as it stands at the moment, vertically, it's perfect).

But I've fired the Raging Bull and yes, .45LCs feel like nothing, same as .38s in the .357 Magnum. I love the porting on these things.

But very decent shooting at 100 yards. That rock's torso-sized and any hit about anywhere on a human being with that monster would end the discussion, as it were.

But I don't see any pics?

Oh...actually I didn't see the initial pics. Didn't load first time I was in the thread. But surely the rock has some chips taken out of it?
Oh! Here's my pics from the first go at the range with my new Taurus. 30 feet. (Been meaning to post these for a while.)

The first two shots are the ones to the left. After adjusting for the sights, the next six you see central. I pulled a smidge to the right for two, as you can see, but the rest are a decent grouping, considering this was the first time I'd ever fired the Model 608.

After Halloween is over, I'll go back to the range and adjust the sights. Anyone know what those sort of snap-cap like things are that send a laser down the barrel for adjusting the sights? I know I've seen them somewhere...

Oh, and Billy, man don't point that thing like that! Makes me nervous just looking at the pictures.

Still and all, I've got to say, no problems so far with mine. I think they really do make fine large-frame wheelguns. The porting is great on the Raging Bull when I've shot one. Are you letting your arms take up the recoil a bit instead of trying to keep it centered on each shot? I had to reacquire a bit more than I'm normally used to after each shot on that monster.

yes i flex my elbows and take my time finding the target.
i figure it's a hunting piece so it's supposed to be a 1 shot deal anyway.
p.s. there was nothing in the chamber but it looks scary anyhow!

Got a favorite recipe yet? I run a Hornady 300 grain XTP, Winchester small rifle primer, and 30 grains of AA#9. Without a chrony I'm guessing the load runs a bit over 1600 ft/sec. But I just got a 4 lb. jug of Ramshot Enforcer on sale I'm going to give a try.
