The rags are just to get you informed about what might be new and good, the actual reviews are worth nothing more then the specs they print next to the weapons.
Meh......I said REPUTABLE journalist. Who was the author? Some n00B trying to get his foot in the door? Was it a real article, or one of those short infomercial style reviews? I didn't say you can believe everything you read, obviously there's some bad poop out there. I wouldn't have a Davis pistol if they were free.

My latest aquisition:

Taurus International Manufacturing Inc

Anything that pretty just has to be good.

There are two pit bulls in my neighborhood who can vouch for the performance of my Taurus.

Guess all I can say is sorry about your luck. Can't say I would feel any different. However, I have not had any problems with any of my Taurus firearms, none have failed me. I would not hesitate to by another.

I have two 1911's. One is the springfield GI stainless slide. I bought it brand new. Fired a box of shells through it. Half the time it won't go into battery. The saftey dosen't work. It locks up in the locked position.

I was very bummed about this and about to give up on 1911's in general, when my local gun dealer got in a new taurus 1911. Absolutely love the gun. Probably got 300 rounds in it now and still haven't cleaned the thing, and it goes bang every time without fail.

I'm not saying springfield is crap "my xd has been flawless" but just like every thing it is possible to get a dud, and my SA was a dud.

I also love marlin rifles but i've had some pretty rotten luck with a 444xlr. Twice it has locked up completely. I know marlin makes some good rifles, but this one has me worried. Point is that anything can screw up but i wouldn't judge a company by what a few people on the internet say while venting.

If it were up to me I wouldnt own a taurus, however it seems to be up to the people who sign my pay check and now I have purchased three taurus's for the price of a sig. Damn government salary.

I've had no problems with my Tauruses (PT-145 and 2 Judges). Enjoy shooting them and think they're fine products. They reliably do what they're supposed to do. The judges are an absolute blast to shoot.

Having said that, I've found out I enjoy shooting the new SIG a great deal more than the PT-145 (and can shoot it better). But the PT-145 is small, reasonably accurate, and goes bang too.

I had one, it was free. I gave it back.

I will try to dig up the article tonight, I can't seem to find it on their site. It was in response to all the months of write-ins with people complaining about the high priced rifles and higher priced optics they always review. It was a real article, not a commercial pretending to be an article.

I have three of them Tauruses. Model 92 and 100 in 9mm and a PT 1911. They are all good guns in my opinion. NO problem.

Could you explain to me how it would be possible to cut half of a crown in a muzzle? As to the cylinder lock,I have seen Colts and especially S&W,s do that brand new.Once the burs were worked off they worked great. sam.

look,i'm not tryin to cause a riot, or trash all of taurus products i'm just tellin the people out there my problem i had with taurus.as 4 the pt145 it shot good once i put the new barrel on it.but taurus costomer service stinks,i waited over 2 months and when it came in it was blued not stainless.the taurus tracker mod. is junk in my opinion, they have had alot more trouble out of it than they want people to know.i'll bet if u check 5 gun stores in ur area that deal with taurus u will find 3 out of 5 that have had problems with trackers, or know something about the trackers problems, from 17 hmr to 500 s&w. AS 4 YOUR CROWN QUESTION,IT COULD BE ANSWERED BETTER BY BOB MORRISON!!!

Taurus Pistol

243custom, You must have got hold of those lemon Tauruses. I don't know much about guns, but sometimes you have to know what you are buying especially if its used.

The Sporting Goods store I bought my Mossberg 930 shotgun last July had 2 or 3 new Taurus 1911's in a show case, so I asked the feller behind the counter if they had sold any and he said 5 and 4 of the 5 sold were returned because somthing broke.
I sure hated hearing that and I do hope Taurus as resolved any issues it has had on these excellent looking 1911's.
For what they give you and the price there's not a better buy in a 1911...A.H

I have only one Taurus, a model 82 4-inch .38 special revolver. I have had no problems so far and it is super accurate.
