I currently own 2 Taurus handguns, a Taurus 605 in .357 Mag, and a Raging Bull in .454 Casull, both have served me flawlessly, and function just as well as the Rugers that I own.

The Judge is an answer to a question NEVER asked! A ten or even twelve inch .410 is barely adequate for any game much beyond arms length! A have serious doubts on any Taurus revolver surpassing 1000rds without repair or miracle! After all, WTF do I know since I RO at the Anchorage range (I fire dozens of guns weekly helping folks zero) and have been smithing guns for over 40yrs. Love that Owned thingie!I've fired more Tauri (plural) than any or possibly most on any board and still sport a scar from the early 454 launching it's rear sight and witnessing the complete frag of a 454 cylinder. | |

Judge is a great pistol as long as its limitations and purpose are understood by the shooter--I wouldn't by any means call it an answer to a question never asked. You have the option of .410 bird, buck or .45 colt. Although I wouldn't ever depend on birdshot to stop a determined attacker, it would certainly ruin a snake's day (and give any 2-legged varmit pause), Buck is .36, and you have .45 colt to follow. The shot charges spread out quite rapildy and give a greater chance of a hit during stress, a shooter with limited proficiency, and/or bad environmentals (and, yes, very well trained people CAN miss at close range even though people think they shouldn't and some may scoff at the thought. For our situation, it's perfect for home and car defense. Wouldn't use it for CCW, but that's another story). Colts from mine are plenty accurate for any defensive pistol and have reasonable power. When loaded with the heavy (st'd press Buffalo Bore heavy .45 Colt) I have no qualms with this pistol as a stopper as much as any other non .44 mag+ handgun. My tauruses bought from the mid-90's up have all performed extremely well with no issues. Approx. 500 rds thru my UL with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I certainly see it passing the 1K and well beyond despite it's light weight frame. I doubt this pistol's place was $bought$. So, respectfully, monte, I submit you're wrong on this one. But what do I know .....

| Taurus Judge Holsters
I own a website that sells Handmade Leather Holsters for the Judge Taurus and it is by far my best selling holster. I have to say that must be because the gun is such a great piece to own. I have seen plenty of them when people bring them into my store to make wet molds and everyone says how much they love the gun and usually purchase a second. So I get lots of repeat business because of this. I own one myself so I can make molds as needed. Check me out at Welcome to VeryTexas.com see my leather goods section. You will love the holsters we sell.

| My grandfather has one that I shoot often and I like it. Ive had my PT945 for over 10yrs and Ive never had a problem with it. Shoots great. The only thing I dont like about it is that it can be hard to load the last two rounds in the clip but maybe there's an aftermarket clip that would load easier?

| I am new to this and don't want to upset anyone, I loved my Judge; but when it had to be returned after not even a full box of shells due to a failure to eject the spent shell I knew there was a setback. The plunger would not function properly. I now have been waiting for 2 months for the dealer to get it back from Taurus. Don't get me wrong, if Taurus has fixed the problem when I get it back I will keep shooting it; if not I am gonna see what the dealer will offer towards a trade in on something/whatever else at the time. |

Well guys, after reading all of the Taurus posts, I feel compelled to put in my 2 cents. I bought the Taurus Judge 23 days ago and just had a chance to fire it when I went to Dallas last week. I was totally awed by the performance. I have owned a lot of other high powered hand guns, of all makes, and I have to say this gun is mighty mighty pleasin'. I really like the way this gun is made and love the way it handles. I shot up a half box of 45's and 12 10 guage. No lock ups and thoroughly enjoyable. I honestly believe that anyone purchasing a Taurus Judge, long or short barrell, will not be dissappointed. By the way, I ordered a holster from www.verytexas.com and am very pleased with it. It's has a lot different styling than the Galco but I like it better. Thanks for reading my 2 cents worth........ |

| I love my Taurus PT92, probably one of the most under rated guns out there.
