Newbie - just bought Taurus PT 145 Millennium Pro

[first post alert]

I just bought a Taurus PT 145 Millennium Pro(new) from a gun show for $300. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I've read GREAT things about it and wondered what other's opinions were on it.

What's a good concealed carry holster for it?

Nice, im thinking about buying yet another handgun but I think it will be a revolver this time, I currently own: Ruger Redhawk 44mag, Ruger p89 9mm, Glock 22(40 caliber), and soon to be a 38revolver.

Taurus has some nice lite .38's. I considered getting a hammerless model - but opted for the .45.

Good buy for a great price!! Congrats and welcome to the site. Let us know how it shoots. I have a PT111 Mil Pro 9mm. I found a perfect fit holster for it at Bass Pro. It is a Uncle Mike hip carry with a extra clip holder. Works great for me. Might check them out. Give us a range report and enjoy the forums...

Got a PT140 and a 24/7 Pro .40 both great never a problem and both as accurate as any. Clean it real good before you go out, slide, firing pin, barrel etc. take it down clean and lube it and you won't have a problem. Learn the sights they shoot dead on not at 6 o'clock this is what leeds to many saying they shoot low, etc. enjoy.

RANGE REPORT:

Some background: this is my first semi-auto. I'm used to revolvers. Also, this is my first time shooting a .45.

I set up a 8" dia. target at 10 yards. The winds are blowing 25 - 30 MPH today.

I put the magazine in, chambered one in, aimed, and "click." The first one didn't fire. I ejected it and chambered another in. DAMN. .45's are LOUD. My ears are still ringing. Again, I'm used to .38's. I guess in any event, you should WEAR HEARING PROTECTION. But... I was only shooting 10 rounds (I AM at work), so I didn't.

Anyway, I fired 9 rounds. No more "clicks." 5 of 9 were in the 8" circle (1 in bullseye). 2 more just outside the 8" circle, and 2 completely off the paper.

Now, all but 1 shot were low. I don't think the wind was blowing down. When I shoot more, I can give a better report. The wind blew my target down TWICE before I could shoot. My ears were ringing. First time shooting a .45. Who knows? I did qualify 96 / 100 on my CWP shooting test a few weeks ago (with my Taurus .38), so GENERALLY speaking I can shoot OK. Time will tell with this gun.

An adder to the range report:

6 of the 7 shots in the target were keyholed (I discovered this after showing it to my father-in-law).

We design robotic welding cells. Our shop is surrounded on 3 sides by fields. Unforfunately, there is an airport accross the street from us. But once in a while, if the boss is not around, we'll shoot a little. I work with a bunch of gun nuts.
