617SH2C.jpgI have a taurus 617 snub nose,I just purchased 3 weeks ago from a sportmans wherehouse.I havent fired it yet, buthave just noticed a hairline crack about a 1/4 of an inch long on the trigger.I tried to attach a picture that I got off of the taurus website then draw in a crack at the location on the trigger, but may not work.I have the stainless version and not the titainium as seen in picture.Any advice or concerns? Thanks for any help.

I don't know how the Sportsman's Warehouse is where you are at but the one I "not so often go to anymore" will tell you to deal with Taurus.

My wife has a Taurus 9mm pt 111. It had a trigger which became progressively worse. I field stripped it and couldn't find anything wrong so she took it to a well known Taurus gunsmith. He worked it over before finding a cracked sear. It went off to the Taurus Motherland in Miami and after 10 weeks it returned fixed. The trigger job had to be redone and it is now a very sweet shooting DAO pistol.
The smith said that when he talked to Taurus he was reading between the lines and apparently there is a silent recall on this weapon. They did make it right. |
