Does anyone know about the Taurus 22 revolver Model 94 or Tracker 22?

I'm thinking about getting a good 22 revolver to practice with. Does anyone have any experance with the model 94 or the Taurus Tracker 22?

I thought about a Taurus revolver because they are less expensive than the S&W or Ruger. But I want to know if they are just as well built.

If the Taurus Tracker 22 is built like the Tracker 17 HMR you'll be pleased with it. I have a Tracker 17 HMR and I'am pleased with it. Just put a Bushnell scope on it, haven't got to shot it with scope yet. But when it warms up, we going to the shooting range.

I have a Taurus 94 Ultra-Lite 9. This is the lightweight snubby 2" version. This is a must have gun. Accurate and reliable with excellent quality. I really like the adjustable sights. I highly recommend this gun to anyone.

Clayman...I looked at the same two weeks ago. What do you think about the trigger? It seemed a little rough on the one that I looked at. As I remember, it was around $400 out the door. Is that a reasonable price?

The trigger on my gun is smooth. I don't have a trigger pull scale, but to me, the single action weight is light (what you would expect) and crisp. The double action pull is smooth but a little heavier than most centerfire revolvers (but from what I've read, a heavy hammer spring is required to reliably ignite rimfires, so this I believe is a good thing because my gun has never had a misfire.)

Concerning the price, I bought mine used but like new for $275 in March 2006. If I remember correctly, at that time new ones were going for around $325. These prices were for guns on gunbroker...I live in Central New York and local gun dealer prices can be higher than average and I've been able to get new and used guns cheaper on gunbroker or auctionarms even with paying shipping and FFL transfer fees. So, in my area, $400 (before tax) is probably about right.

There's a NIB Blue Ultra-Lite 9 Model 94 on auctionarms for $289...
