Welcome to G & G, Congrats on the new purchase, it sounds like a great a pistol. The first .357 magnum I ever shot was a Taurus, a really fine shooter. I dont get caught up in brand names, if it hits what I aim at its golden. |

ccoll5, forst off, Let me say hello and welcome to the site. As for your choice, whatever you can afford and are comfortable with. I think you made a good choice. Ammo is still very reasonable, not bad recoil and not too much to handle in any way shape or form. Yes, some love 'em and some hate 'em. But if you are happy with it and like it, that's what counts. Please give us a range report from your first trip if you haven't gone yet? Good luck also when you do.. Safety first... And by all means, get yourself a good CLP( cleaner, lubricant, protectant), some Hoppes #9 and a caliber, in this case a 9mm caliber specific boresnake. You may find the package also says .28 and or .357 if I remember correctly? But a boresnake is a must for afterwards. MHO that is...

i also have a question. is anyone from the central ky. area and if so do you know of a good range to go to? living in lexington is different than i am used to. being from eastern ky we would just go out and shoot in the back yard, cant quite do that here lol.

Am sure that you will enjoy your new gun, most of the haters have never owned a Taurus, but are envious of those of us that do own one. I have a 357 and in the process of buying a 44 Magnum in Taurus. I have other handguns (Ruger, S&W etc.) and I rate Taurus right along side of these.
