Yes, .45 Colt is viably viable. Light birdshot from a 410 is viable too if the perp is within arms reach and you shoot him in the face. Otherwise I'd go with the .45 Colt.

I tend to agree with the .45 acp. I keep two of them in my house for SD. All my other pistols and calibers have their place in CCW and range duty. I love the variety and choices. Lets hope we can keep it this way by voting sensibly on general election day in November.
