You have to have your pics on the internet first. Try picfury.com and then when you post you click the the icon that looks like a postcard and enter the location of the picture and it should be up. If this makes no sense then maybe one of the other guys can explain it, I do have a good little buzz going on.

The old G&G had a way that you could up-load photos from your hard drive directly to the G&G site.

That was taken away some time back due to server load issues, if I'm not mistaken.

Since the abilty went away I refuse to put my photos on another site for holding, if it were, where that group of people have an ability to use it whenever they wish and how they wish.

Maybe that's over concern but it's just me.

But, from what Chris just said it seems we now have a system like the old days where we can up-load from our hard drives. Am I reading that correctly?

You sure are Dale!

We have a gallery. Everyone is able to upload the pictures into the gallery, and use it anywhere on this site or anywhere on the internet.

The glalery uses less of the actual server resources than attachments did. It might seem like a little more of a hassle, but it allows the images to be used in more places causing less strain on the server, which is a big reason for it.

Chris.

Chris.
How does one go about attaching it to a post in a thread? Or linking to it, or copying it, or....?

If the know-how's already on the site somewhere, no need to repeat yourself; just point me to it.

Click on the gallery at the top of the screen
Click on the Upload link
Browse your computer for where the file is
Enter a title, and description
Choose the correct category
Click upload

Once upload there should be something below the image called [IMG] tags. Copy that information by pressing the CTRL button and C at the same time while the entire code there is highlighted. Come to the forums and inside your post paste the code by pressing CTRL and V at the same time

Then complete the post as your normally would.

Hope this helps
Chris
