At least you'll be moving to warmer weather with a lot more places to shoot. Not to mention to a state where you can CCW unlike the one you'll be leaving.
I think it's a good thing. So, congrats on the move...

Well hope you get to enjoy your time down here its gonna be a sight warmer expect 110 degrees, I know San Antone has some good ranges and an indoor range with rentals that the boys and I are gonna try to hit up before I ship. Don't know about Ft Hood. Its a nice lil drive between the two if you don't take 35 then you'll come through the real hill country. My town is surrounded by lakes and I'm about an hour and a half from either base but I wont be here at that time.
San Antonio and Fort Hood will be hotter than Galveston! Won't have the ocean breeze to cool things down to the mid 90's. Both places are very pretty and if you can get off the range for some fun you will have a great time exploring!
Just...um....make sure you shooting point is to the far left on the line....I would hate to think what would happen to you if you got a hot 50 BMG case down the back of your shirt!
Here's a list of the ranges. That forum may have a shoot there during that time, I'll find out if they are.
You would like the members. Thanks for serving. YeHaw! Y'all San Antonio Ranges
If you run through MO on your way give me a ring maybe we can meet for lunch or something. I'll have a full house with a Boot Camp reunion during that time frame otherwise I'd offer you bed and breakfast.
I'd like to meet ya.

I could swing through Peoria, that wouldn't me much different then my original route. I think I'll be adding on an extra day on the trip to make a few more stops!

Lemme know a day or three in advance. If somehting changes, I understand (being on the road alot myself) I can run you by your brothers shop and run you through a HERC if they have one in the hanger.
What part of MO OJH? I'd love to grab a cup of coffee with ya!
Mansfield, MO
I would suppose you'd be taking 65 South through Springfield. Springfield has a great Shoney's with a good breakfast buffet.
Have you figured your route yet?
