| 454 Thompson Encore Pistol Shooters Hey guys, Anyone out there shoot their 454 pistol in the TC pistol for any length of time? What do you shoot cartrige wise? Any words of wisdom? daddus1 |

| Shooting 454's I shoot 454's out of my 15" 460 S&W barrel for about a year now. I reload using Winchester Brass, 250 grain Hornady XTP/Mag, and 25 grains of Alliant 2400 powder. I am actually going to reload using Starline brass this week. I have it sighted in at 100 yards and get about 1 1/2" groupings. If I took more time reloading and practiced some more, I could probably get a closer group. Before I started reloading, I did try some Hornady factory rounds (240 gn) and it shot pretty well. I tried shooting 460 S&W's, but the recoil was not fun at all. I have 35 rounds left. I have a 10" Taurus 500 mag that is a lot more bearable than the 460. |
