| opinions i just recently heard of these rifles and checked out their website and wow! what options and versatility. only problem being single shot but i can accept that with all the good. curious what you guys think of the encore or the pro hunter and what makes it better than the standard encore? and what would one of these rifles normally go for in price range and average price of replacement barrels? also are they accurate? not looking for benchrest competitions or anything but sufficient accuracy. sorry about all the questions. i'm excited about this. |

| I like T/C. I have a 270 win that i love old gun with an adjustable trigger. When looking for an Encore the input I recieved went sonmething like this: Heavy but very crisp trigger pull Having a bunch of barrels and forestocks can be a hassel The gun smith i use is not a fan of doing trigger jobs on them. Here is the deal they are very accurate rifle with a lot of versatility. The trigger is much heavier than i like(i think it may be better now). The pro has a fluted barrel to reduce weight and a cool enery absorbing stock to reduced recoil. I think they are too cool for school - but in my search and research i picked up a ruger #3 in 45-70 that I couldn't say no to. For muzzel loader I have a T/C Triump that I love. I would buy one if I wanted one in a heartbeat they are a cool rifle and i like the pistol grip stock. As far as single shot rifles goes the name says it all. Have fun, Single Shot |

| I have 1 Encore frame and 4 barrels, .45 cal muzzle loader, .223Rem Heavy barrel, .308Win standard barrel, and a 12guage turkey barrel. I like the Encore a lot. I did have a trigger done on it because the trigger was inconsistent. It was crisp but it broke between 3.5 and 5 pounds. I also replaced the recoil pad with a Sims Limbsaver after getting the turkey barrel. I have not bought a barrel in couple of years but they can run $200 – 300 the last time I look. I never paid more than $250. The Pro Hunter has a 26” fluted barrel to reduce weight and an energy absorbing stock to reduced recoil. |

| thanks for all the info. i love the look of them and the versatility but i gotta wonder if it is worth it. those replacement barrels are expensive for only getting a barrel. you can buy whole guns cheaper like the NEF handi-rifle. may not be as good though but more guns. gotta do a lot of thinking on this |

| I like the fact you can get used to one trigger pull. For example 50 cal muzzleloader, 12 ga shotgun slug gun, 7mm mag and 454 Casull. You can use the same frame for all these calibers and the trigger pull is the same. That way I don't handicap the gun so bad,hey who knows, I might even get better. But just remember you can tell the wife " I don't have to buy a whole gun, I can just get a nice cheap barrel" Well it worked for me for a short time, but you know! No really, they are a delight to shoot, and will shoot as good as you can hold them. daddus1 HEY GUYS WAKE UP <ITS ONLY 2.5 months till season!!!!!!!!!!! |

| You might be able to buy more guns cheaper. but in my opinion none beter for the money. I really don't shoot my other guns much anymore! and the trick with the wife thing is still working for me, just got another barrel....thats 4, and still say it..."better than buyin a whole new gun!" i love it!

| Buy the Encore frame, get a trigger job done and put a Bergara barrel on it. I've been very happy with the Bergara's quality and out of the box accuracy. Bought a 7mm-08 recently that shot a little over 1" with the first 3 rounds out of it. With a T/C factory barrel it's a crap shoot. Quality control is iffy. Anyway, one man's opinion. |

| Senior Member | I got my Encore in Jan./08. Mine is the .50cal. ML. Love it. I've been shooting a 25 yard distance since ownership. I took it to the range this past weekend and after I got it sighted in at 100yds., and came home, I realized my scope is not lined up with the barrel properly. Yeah I'll have to fix that. Point is though, even with it in apparent misalignment, I was able to group at .80. I bore sighted at too close of a distance. At 25yds. the alignment was not so apparent as it was at 100yds. No big deal due to the Leupold rings that are fully adjustable. My point is that the weapon is very accurate. I do plan on aquiring another barrel at some point, not just in a big hurry now.

| Troll B' Gone ![]() ![]() | The T/C's are okay, but I like the Ruger # 1's a little better, as I think they are more solid rifles overall. I have hunted with single shot rifles quite a bit, and never really felt handicapped, as long as you have extra cartridges on a buttstock shellholder, or something similar, they can be reloaded fairly rapidly, if a follow up shot is needed.

| Senior Member | Another note...Look at EABCO.com for Encore custom barrels. They run about $350.00. Still cheaper than a new weapon platform. You only need one shot if your proficient in your practice. As far as the NEF, if they were as good as a T/C, they would be the top dog in the single-shot platform. Buy QUALITY the first time and you'll never have "BUYER'S REMORSE".

| Senior Member | Second note, the after-market selection for Encore parts and accessories is extensive. And with any new firearm design, there is wisdom in waiting awhile for problems in design to show up. Never to be the one who purchases the first run of any new product.

| nothing beats an encore or t/c for accuracy, dependability or just down right fun. addicting as coke, more fun then shooting rats with a 22, and one shot, one kill challenge for any hunter |
