NEF Survivor 223or308.Does anyone own one of these?

I'm considering ordering one of these Survivor models in 308.
The only thing stopping me is that since I can't see one in person,(no one around my area likes 308. ? Go figure) I don't know how the the feel of the stock is. Does it feel like a cheesey toy stock?
I know not many like New Englands synthetic, but I really do.
I love the design of it looks like it has a good feel with the skeleton buttstock.
I know someone here has to own or has owned one of these.

It's on Page 11.

Nothing wrong with that, I love my Model 700.
I know that Choate makes the stock and they also make a little different varmint stock as seen on there website: www.riflestock.com
Lower right hand of the page.

The Choate stock? I love there Ultimate sniper stock. Really long though. The Varmint model rocks too.
Knowing what kind of durable quality Choate puts into their products, I should just go for it and order it. If I don't like it, I can just buy the other Varmint stock and forend they offer. I have read a few really good reviews for it, but I was just wondering what anyone here though about them. You know, first hand.

Hi Myarmor, I don't own this model but I have tried one. The stock is fine but it does take some getting used to against your cheek. Also if you haven't used these NEF or H&R's before watch how you load the shell in the chamber, you can push in too far and the extractor won't be able to remove the shell. Good Luck

Thanks stangman. I have seen that it is hollow, and I guess that was making me uncertain, not so much the quility I guess.
Like I said Choate does a fine job on their stocks, but with it being hollow it would seem really top/front heavy. But I could always use a fill in the butt of the stock. Like with some of my other synthetic stocks I have.

I have one and love it!

I have the one with the thumb hole stock in .308. I put a good bushnell scope on it and it is the best rifle I have ever owned. One shot will drop a michigan whitetail with no excesive damage. I have killed 3 deer with it in the last 2 years and the farthest I have had one run is 20 yards. This is a great and accurate gun.

Sorry for not posting sooner havent been on much. I have the survivor in 308 I got cheap from a friend of mine. It was what I could afford when I got back into shooting. The stock feels good, it does take a little getting use to. But it shoots good havent had any problems with the extractor but they are famous for this problem. I do like the idea of being able to store items in the stock. I've got about 500 rounds thru her with out ant problems. Put a Bushnell 3x9-40 scope on it and shooting 3 inch groups at 100 yrds. I feel the rifle can do better have to work on my own skills and different ammo. The trigger is stiff it can go back to the factory and they will do a trigger job on it, I think it was about 65.00. Handiholics can give you alot more info than me. But over all I like the gun alot carrys well shoots well and I'm happy, again I think accuracy will improve as I do. LOL
I have been looking at the ultimate varmint in either 204 or 243 looks really cool, but havent decided on it yet. Sorry about carrying on but it was my first gun since I got back into guns and I got a little excited.
Hope I was some help anyways, I would recommend the survivor from expeience for what its worth.
