| Skunk Removal Does anyone know how to trap an skunk or maybe bait it into the open, so i'm not shooting in the farm yard where i might get a ricochete and hit a building or horse? |

| well that sort of trapping is illegal here so naturally i dont take part in it ast all!...but hypothetically speaking, if it were happening to me i may have saved some varmint sized spring jaw traps from the days when it wasnt enforced as much as today. and also hypothetically speaking i would set the spring jaw traps with a chunk of raw meat. hamburger doesnt work well cause it wont stay on the trap very well. a chunk of roast of some old fat that had been trimmed off a steak works great!...ummm...or i mean it would work great hypothetically

| But...Whirlwind, wouldn't that still give the skunk time to stink up the place? Seems that, as you said, hypothetically

| Wow, that's a real story... shooting a skunk, thinking it's dead, and getting sprayed shamelessly. Hope you don't mind if I laugh. I realize it's a pretty serious experience.

| no, it took that long to emotionally recover enough to where i could laugh about it lololololol that skunk looked like the devil himself when he turned! lol he wasnt nuttin like peppy lepew! lol ive had alot of seemingly nice animals try to kill me. guinies (sp?) peacocks, coons, possums etc. you get them cornered and they go into this defensive mode that would rival a mother lion protecting her young! lol

| Back on topic - I've caught several skunks in cage traps and never had one spray. I'm told they won't spray unless they can raise their tail up high, and there's no room in the cage for that. We've caught skunks at camp with a Havahart cage trap and with homemade box traps that the kids built. Skunks aren't too bright. We've caught them using tuna fish and leftover pizza for bait. I've also caught skunks in leg-grip traps (years ago as a boy) and they would spray every time. I'd recomment a box trap, Redneck. Good luck. |

| Put tuna in a cage trap and when you catch one just put a blanket or something over the cage and carry it away they wont spray if they can't see you , or at least they have never sprayed me.

| If I had to get rid of a skunk I'd call in a ARC LIGHT mission if possible. |
