| Which Rifle? For Varmints.
I happened on to your site the other day. Seemed interesting, and a bunch of info. Now that I'm confirmed I'll ask my question. I want to get a .223 for my son. Been looking at the CZ527. You folks didn't seem to mention this one on the other thread so I will. Any thoughts on this brand? Pro's and Con's. They seem to be pretty nice rifles, anyone have any hands on with one? |

Good from what I understand, just not out front as much as some. Personally, I want to be taken care of if there is an issue. I don't think people have that big warm fuzzy yet. Just my .02

Hello, I'm new to the site and don't mean to step on any toes right from the start, but I have a CZ527 in .223 that I wouldn't think of parting with. I also have a CZ 452 in .22, and a CZ Heavy Barrel Varmint in .308. All of them are shooters, and I have not had any trouble with any of them. I have owned a Remington 700 in .223, a Savage in .223, and Ruger M77's in .22 and .223 and none of them would shoot as well as my CZ's. When I called the factory for help with the Ruger .223 I couldn't get any help with it. My experience may not have been as good as some guys get though, but I wasn't happy with their customer service at all.

While I've never owned any of their rifles(I have a strong desire for a model 3 in .270 wsm) I have owned several of their pistols over the years and have had 0 problems with any of them.

Thanks to all who have responded. Tooldummy, Sounds like you like them. Any more folks want to chime in? I missed the local gun show this past weekend. Just plain forgot about it. I was going to look at some .223's. Just wanted to get a comparison to the 2 stores I have a choice of here is Southern California. Sadly I don't know how long they'll be hanging on. |

I would suggest a Tikka T3 in 223. I have owned one for about a year and a half now and couldn't be happier with it. I comes off of the same factory lines that Sako rifles come from. Very good fit/finish. Price is about 500 for the model that I have. It has an adjustable trigger from 2-4 lbs. Just this past week I shot a .388" shree shot group at 100 yds
