17 hmr

just came from sportsmans warehouse, was looking at the nef/h&r in 17 hmr synthetic stock and heavy barrel for 125 bucks looks like a great deal' i have a 280 in the same gun but i am curios if any one has a simuler rig have you hunted varmit with 17 hmr, at around 2400 to 2500 fps is it consistant, 1/4 moa?, assuming i do all the work that im suposed to at my end?

I don't have the NEF, but do have the Marlin bolt rifle in .17HMR. It has done 3/8" groups at 100 yards - excellent accuracy in that tiny bullet!
