Agreed. I take a .243, .22-250, 7mm Rem Mag, and a .300 Weatherby, and that's for local trips!! the .300 Wby really makes em splat.

nikon prostaff 3-9x40mm on the .243, and a Redfield Accurange 3-10x40mm on the .22-250.

.22-250 is great for p-dogs. Very accuret, and has some legs.
Personally I use a .17 HMR, but that's me. Great little rifle if you don't plan on shooting past 300 yds.

i would deffinetly go with the 22-250 but bring the marlin along too... why not?

Make sure you bring an artillery sight along. Like lobbing grapefruit at them P.D's. I'm willing to bet a fuzzy red mist if you do hit one of them with the 30-30 though - or maybe a PD that rolled off the side of the planet.

regardless of what rifle you take, take a lot of ammo and have fun!
