I would have to ask how high the cam is, but without knowing, my best guess would be a house cat. Their are no tufts on the ears, and by the way you can make out the details of the eyes, I can't make out any of the markings a bobcat would have. If the trail cam was set up high, it may be a couger, but looks like a house cat to me.

The camera was hooked to he tree about 1 foot off the ground, but the bait was set down hill so actually the cam hight to the animal was about 2 1/2 ft. or so off the ground.

Thats easy for you to say sam and i hope you are right.Always good to know somebody else who hates the ferals. But as a youth me and my mate used to go out with my old man every friday and saturday night to the local bush dumps and start WW3 on the local ferals. Some nights we would smash well over 30 cats and that was the normal rate until the dumps set up revolve.Which is a recycling place.I am not bragging but i have shot into the thousands when it comes to cats.Thats not including the ones i have trapped.I dont know how old you are,i have respect for my elders you know this. Its like saying how long is a piece of string? until you really know hey mate.IF i was out and had a trophy anything in my sights and saw a feral cat i WILL shoot the cats EVERYTIME no matter what.I dont mind people having pet cats, infact ive even met a few cats i even liked. My uncle was living in a shack in a fruit orchard in Ardmona in Victoria. My mother sent me to saty with him when i got to 15 years old.I was a bit of a handfull after my parents split. We had a brood of feral cats living under the shack.Four cats plus mum.Three were ginger tabbys and one pure black bar the tiger stripes in the sunlight. We caught him and tamed him. What an awesome cat.In winter it used to get bloody cold and the toilet was an outside dunny. The cats name was pud and he would sit between your ankles and keep them warm no matter how bad the stink was.I used to shoot sparrows and starlings with the air rifle.Pud loved them,i gave them to him and he would pull the head off first.Almost like a bit of candy ahhahahahhahah. The feral cat population over here is estimated at around 15 million. They are the perfect hunter not needing water like most others do.They have the skills and reflexes to be the best. The feral cats range right out into the desert country and are a menace on a lot of our native critters of smaller sizes. The only good feral cat is a dead one.Or as i usually say better dead and red.

Growing up around family that owned farms and ranches in south Texas they used to get a lot of feral cats wander up. Uncles shot every unknown cat that wandered up. The threat of rabies was way to high to take the chance. Same went for racoons, skunks and possums. Rabies was epidemic.

All right AM,maybe you have shot the most, and if so,I am proud of you. Most feral cats come to be because people over here think kittens are so cute but dont have any use for adult cats and dump them in the country.I would like to take that kind of people out in the boonies and dump them with no food or shelter. sam.

We got plenty of them here.Usually can be found protesting about some animals rights.Like at the moment there is going to be a roo cull taking place right here in the middle of canberra at a place used by the navy. There are way to many roos and if not culled they will starve to death.Greenies want them relocated instead of shot. What a crock of shite.Relocate them to where?Much more humane to cull them.

ALL stray cats are feral. If they are more than 500m from their home out in the bush they are classed as feral. The property i shoot on locally is owned by my mate.If i see a dog or cat on there i shoot it.Last dog i shot on there was collared. The dog was half way into my mates 1200 acre property. So i shot it.When i told my mate he laughed and said well thats funny. The bloke who owns it shot my dog last year hahahhahah.

What should we do with feral humans??? National service, straight up. If you want to live off the government and do nothing with your life you work for the money.

I wont shoot a dog as i like dogs, but then again if i saw it attack and kill livestock and it wasnt on its property, then I guess I would be tempted. Cats are excluded, you only see their eyes off in the distance, turn the illuminated reticle on and place it between the eyes and squeeze.

You guys gotta remember that we shoot on properties with thousands of acres and when you right in the middle of it, usually your a long way from a house. To see a cat out in the middle of nowhere means its feral. Any shooting near housing estates will see you in the slammer quicker than you can say i hate cats. Our gun laws are strict and shooting activites are kept in accord with the laws. Basically means you have to give your left nut to get a gun and your right to find property to shoot on.
