Dead Squirrerls (sp?)

What do you guys do after you kill a squirrerl? Because I have no clue what to do and I just don't want to leave it to rot. Thanks for the help and sorry for such a stupid thread.

Not a stupid thread! I have a feeling that you're going to get more responses then you first thought.

I've heard of making a stew with them. I've never had squirrel, but here it is pretty tasty.

If you are killing them because they are pests and doing damage, you can clean them and eat them. There was a post back about nov.,dec.,about how to skin them.If they truly are being destructive and you dont want to eat them, dont worry about taking care of them, nature never wastes anything. If you are killing them just for the hell of it,yuo need a talking to.There are lots of cans and bottles to do that to. sam.

Thumbs up

I like 'em either Southern Fried, or cooked in brown gravy and eaten over rice.

The dumplings idea sounds mighty good too!

Cleaning them is easy.
1) Pinch fur at middle of back, cut a slit.
2) Insert your first two fingers of both hands, pull smoothly til his little shirt and trousers are down covering only head, hands and feet.
3) Cut off head, tail, and four feet. Toss the discarded clothes to your two bird dogs.
4) Lay the critter on his back, and cut the inside of the thighs, slit him up the front.
5) Remove offal, toss to your dogs.
6) Wash him, and he's ready for dinner, as the 'guest of honor'.

We cut the four legs free, and the torso into top and bottom halfs. I like the hind drumsticks.

Personally, I think rat is not bad at all with the right BBQ sauce.

what i find that if you give them (rabbit or squrrels) to one cat the others get jeolous of that cat so they try to take it away and if they cant they try to get their own critter killed for them selves thats just if they destroy stuff and you want to getrid of them!

I either eat them or if they have to much meat damage I will leave them in the woods. Something will eat it!

feller squirrels make good eat'in so learn to skin them and quarter them.

Mix you up some flour, black pepper and salt but first dip the squirrel parts in buttermilk and give a good shake.
Next roll around in the flour, Black pepper, salt mixture.
Now gently drop into a skillet of hot grease and put the lid on the skillet and slow fry them.
Once brown take out the squirrel and next add some of the flour pepper salt mixture to the grease.
Don't stir the mixture until it is a little brown and then stir the grease and mixture into a paste.
Add 2 cups of half water and half milk(or a little more) into the paste slowly and stir vigeriously with the heat turned up.
Once you got this all stired up and it thickens and if it gets to thick add some more water to thin it .
Now put the squirrel parts back into the gravey and let simmer 20 to 30 minutes with lid on the skillet.
"Remember" don't let the gravy get to "thick" add water if you have to, to thin it where the squirrel will simmer in the gravy.

While your waiting for the squirrels to simmer in the gravey POP open a can or two of JUMBO Buttermilk bisquets if you don't know how to make home made one's.

Once all this is done run lock all the doors and close the curtains to your home.
You don't want the neighbors to see the feast your fiddin to enjoy !!!
You'll also be do'in some moaning and grow'in as you enjoy this delious meal and you'll prolly dump some on the floor to waller in cause it'll be so good...A.H

I think greys are more tender than fox squirrels. May just be me? Good eating though.
