woodchuck time again

i have a woodchuck that lives in a hole under my driveway and my dad wants me to get rid of it because it eats all the plants in the garden.the problem is i cant shoot it when it comes out of the hole because it is in front of the road and if i miss the bullet will ricochete possibly hitting houses, the garden is about 100 yds away and i rarely see it inbetween the two spots so i was thinking of planting another garden at a better shooting position, will this work?
