I follow the guidelines in Leviticus chapter 11. The way I see it, God's health laws shouldn't change. So, no crabs bear or catfish for me! As to what everyone else does, ok, but I'm staying clear of that.

I googled the crap out of "eating coyote" and all I found was people asking about it. It sounds like a quest for Andrew Zimmern to me! Bizarre Eats, Coyote....

I have been to many countries around the globe and most states around the Union, and I am always open to eating different things. Always. BUT, I can safely say there are near a thousand things on my list of things to try before ever sinking my teeth into a nasty coyote.

I was in Macau once and they were serving BBQ dog ribs and sweet and sour monkey at a receiption at the Macau Hilton. I spent the week eating rice, pineapple, and duck eggs.

Goofy texan I was with ordered a steak one night. I reminded him we hadn't seen a cow around, but there was a horse track near!

Even the vultures in our area won't eat the coyotes.
Usually the only requirement for them is it's dead but they just won't
touch a dead coyote.

It's not a great idea to eat something that eats red meat itself.

I always kindly thought so too, BUT! One day a friend came by on his way across Texas. He had a large tupperware container full of nuggets...... cougar! Mountain lion! Puma! He killed it in the mountains near a little town called Sierra Blanca, and he and his Dad cooked it up. They looked almost like chicken mcnuggets from Mcdonald's. No, it didn;t taste like chicken, but it was probably the best wild "exotic" game I've ever eaten. Tied with or better than Oryx. Very good!

But a coyote? No, I don;t think I could stomach that....

Thats kinda ironic...lol..........i had a male redheeler(45 lbs of pure red devil) that loved coyotes(then again maybe he hated them)..................i always took him and my other heeler(a blue gyp) everywhere with me.....one day i was cruisin across the pasture to go feed and saw a yote about 30 yards from the truck, well so did my dogs and they decided to go say hello.......it was kinda comical...........the yote slowd to look back and the red male broadsided him then my blue dog caught up and to say the least "THE YOTE DIDN'T MAKE IT"

will have to say he had to be a younger yote or he wouldnt of ever slowed down(my dogs came in at least once or twice a month with new scars from what i always called their midnight battles)

Mange is scabbies in humans. The danger is not from eating the meat, it's from handling the infected animal. The Indians ate dogs and the white men who shared a meal with them all said it was excellent.......Why would a coyote be any different?
