I don't know about the shooting qualities of them...but they are tres chic! I want one...even though I have no use for it really. The triangular barrel is just plain cool looking, and I have a weakness for OD Green. LOL I wouldn't have to spray paint that rifle!

I shot the 308 Winchester version and it would group about 3/4 inch I just did not like the look of the rifle, it is plain ugly I think but it is functional

haha i was planning on getting that too cause of the cool looking triangular barrel and the muzzle break (which does not reduce recoil * and it doesnt matter anyway cause .223 barely has any recoil anyway) . well i did some research and found out that the other 700 SPS Varmint is more accurate and 200 bucks cheaper. i decided on the sps and then waste the "rest" of the money on a good scope. iv'e been coyote hunting for a year now with my 30-06 (didnt keep the fur) but now that its getting into winter again i wanted to keep the thicker pelts so decided on a .223 cause the 30-06 just ripped baseball sized holes in the exit holes which i didnt mind cause i didnt want the pelts. but now i do. well anyway i would recomend the 700 sps. plus with the vtr the muzzle break is not part of the barrel so that takes off 2 inches off the barrel . i would rather get a longer barrel.

ive been wanting to get one in .204. i shot my buddys .308 vtr when he first got it last year. i liked it a lot. its feels good to hold and is pretty light, but its loud with that muzzle break. u definitely need ear protection for it.
