Thank you, Matt.

It was truly an honor I wouldn't change and the experience was invaluable.

I too, want to thank my brothers and sisters and, particularly, those who gave their tomarrows so we can have our todays.

A Soldiers Prayer

When I am called to serve, Dear Lord,
Wherever war may be,
Give me courage to fight the battles,
My country may ask of me.
Grace me with Your presence,
And know that I love You,
While I fight the enemy,
My country needs me to.

Help me protect my comrades,
As You expect me to,
And keep me in Your loving hands,
While I do what I must do.
I want to do my duty,
And to give the best in me,
To do what I've been called to do,
And protect our liberty.

And if, according to Your will,
I must give up my life,
Please bless with Your protecting hand,
My children and my wife.

A SOLDIERS PRAYER

I want you to close your eyes and picture in your mind the soldier at Valley
Forge, as he holds his musket in his bloody hands.

He stands barefoot in the snow, starved from lack of food, wounded from
months of battle and emotionally scarred from the eternity away from his
family surrounded by nothing but death and carnage of war.

He stands tough, with fire in his eyes and victory on his breath. He looks
at us now in anger and disgust and tells us this...

I gave you a birthright of freedom born in the Constitution and now your
children graduate too illiterate to read it.

I fought in the snow barefoot to give you the freedom to vote and you stay
at home because it rains.

I left my family destitute to give you the freedom of speech and you remain
silent on critical issues, because it might be bad for business.

I orphaned my children to give you a government to serve you and it has
stolen democracy from the people.

It's the soldier not the reporter who gives you the freedom of the press.

It's the soldier not the poet who gives you the freedom of speech.

It's the soldier not the campus organizer who allows you to demonstrate.

It's the soldier who salutes the flag, serves the flag, whose coffin is
draped with the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag!!!

"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect
us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. Amen."want you to close your eyes and picture in your mind the soldier at Valley Forge, as he holds his musket in his bloody hands

Written by an anonymous confederate soldier during the American Civil War

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve,
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.

I asked for health, that I might do greater things,
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things....

I asked for riches, that I might be happy,
I was given poverty, that I might be wise....

I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men,
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God....

I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life,
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things....

I got nothing that I asked for - but everything that I had hoped for,
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.

I am, among all men, most richly blessed

As a Veteran I thank you. As a Veteran I want for my friends that can not celebrate this day with me. As a Veteran I hide from the questions that I do not want to answer. As a Veteren I love my country and despise my goverment. As a Veteran I would do it all again.

Sorry for my past reply. Some days are better than others. Veterans and Memorial days are not always good days.

God bless you for caring.

Don't be sorry for what you feel. A good portion of us have "our days" here.
