Police Partners?

Wondering what folks who know way more than I do think of this. I've tended to believe that police are best off when operating with partners. Two guys to a car. Possibly rotating. I've tended to think that it is best for performance because they can delegate responsibilities (ie watching more than one could while watching the road), covering each other's backs, have double the strength in a number of emergency situations, be able to manage supplies and equipment while driving, and assist each other in more ways than I could ever imagine. In addition, they could help constructively evaluate each other, help in training and mentoring, and in the most rare but serious cases, report potential "snaps" before they happen, or even better, help to prevent the distress that leads to the rare but harmful examples of violence and severe misconduct by police officers. Also getting to know each other, possibly in rotation, could help an entire force to work better as a team.

Understanding that some police do operate with partners, am I on track with this train of thought? My understanding is that the only thing preventing all police from having partners is the resources in funding and personnel, ie needing to spread out personnel over a wider area.

If I'm right about this, would there be a way to go about helping this to happen on the local level? Ie funding initiatives, policy stuff, and more? And is there a way to make sure that funding is used correctly, as every department is different with competency and honesty?

Cool Two Man Rpc (radio Patrol Cars)

Being retired Police Personal who worked the who worked some of the worst hoods in the city. I quickly found out that either you or your partner must a as a stabilizing factor for the other.(not so bad) Many things that can cause grave harm to either side are put to rest when two guyes alite from a Rpc. There is safety in numbers. Yes the critics go on amongst partners for the first 3 month, and unless in that time something earth shattering happens, you and you partner are married to each other.
You must face day after day of unknown experiances and you totally trust you life in the hads of your partner.
