...scary stuff. Same reason I want to get into law enforcement. I'd hate to know that I couldn't be doing my part to keep scum like that off the streets. My day is coming soon, though. I believe as soon as I graduate AIT my unit may be deploying to Iraq. So as soon as I come home from the sandbox I can start working on my degree.

On the first video, how come the video zooms in and out and pans left and right? Do those dashcams do that? Or was the video edited for TV?

There was a guy in the cop car with a video camera filming while the cop was getting shot?

I bet two-70. I bet you don't get it as often as you deserve it but thanks for your service to your town/city/community. To your brother, too and other LEO's on the forum.

I know how that goes, two-70. My grandfather was a police officer for a very long time. I'd always admired him. He's always been my hero. Years before I was born he responded to a domestic disturbance call and was shot from only a few feet with a 12 guage loaded with birdshot. Not sure how the equipment was then. But whether he had on a vest or not, the guy still got him pretty darned good. He was in the hospital for a while but made a full recovery and returned to duty. Didn't retire until 2001. It's scary to think about, but kind of cool because he shows me spots on him where he still has pellets coming out from under the skin. Probably one of the reasons he taught me firearm saftey very early. He took me on my first hunting trip and gave me my first shotgun, too. I'd hate to think where I'd be if he wouldn't have made it. So I have a great appreciation for all of our LEO's, firefighters, EMT's, military men, etc. I thank them as often as possible.

For the overwhelming part I have nothing but respect and admiration for our Law Enforcement, unfortunately there are the occasional bad apples that seem to get the press when things go bad. As unfortunate as that is I would still be behind the badge each day doing my part. Hats off to our Police, Troopers, Constables and Rangers!

I hear ya, for the most part they are doing a good job but my only beef with cops now is there is simply not enough or there are too many criminals.

Which is why I will be proud to do my part.

I have the greatest respect for good, honest, dedicated Leo's. I spent over 10 years in that profession when I was younger. To you new guys and others waiting to join, LEARN. Take the time to learn how to do it right. Don't get in a hurry for there will always be plenty of bad guys out there.

I think that the store clerk video was fake. The muzzle flashes look like they are special EFX. I do that for a living and it looks fake. Makes since too since at the end it asks if you want to see more. Perfect for driving traffic to the site.
