Thanks for the welcome aboard. After The welcome home from RVN, I hid in plain sight for about twenty years. I felt ashamed to admit I was a veteran. My Marine sons changed that. The oldest walked up to me after graduation and presented me with a hat that said "Vietnam Veteran". He looked me right in the eye, and told me it was time to stand proud and stop taking crap from the lefties. And you know, it woke me up. Never will a veteran be treated the way we were treated, so long as I live and breathe. Okay, time to get off the soap box. God bless all veterans and thanks again for making me feel welcome, Seabeescotty.

Well said scotty ..." god bless all veterans" . The way You guys were treated was tragic and shameful. And it's about time that All soldiers were shown the respect that you /they have EARNED.

You know, it's like every other part of our society, there's a certain percentage of bad apples. And you can't get away from it. The big difference is veterans, and to an extent, police officers, have served on that thin line to defend this great nation. And most don't ask for a thing in return. For a society to turn on it's defenders and abuse them after what they've already been through is wrong, one of the worst wrongs I can imagine. Some people manage to live their entire life without ever experiencing the completely overwhelming fear of dying. My sons said it all when each came home, and said Dad, now I understand. It hurts to know that they now carry the same burden that I tried to bury for so long. But it brought us closer than ever, and I love those boys more than I can ever describe adequately. Scotty

from a veteran of oif 6-8 i thank you for your service in a war that was much worse than what i went through my dad is a vietnam vet and im proud to be his son thank you again

I volunteered at age 15 to go find my big brother, my mother and the recruiter said no. He was MIA in 1970. I Served in the Army Infantry 24 yrs. Every one of you have my heart-felt thanks, and my deepest admiration. Every Veteran's day, I go out and visit old wrinkly SOB's at the VA and just listen. Just because I'm OLD & WRINKLY! You should do it too! Now we have a new gen of wounded who can use magagzines, someone to register their car, etc. ! You can still SERVE a brother in arms! And it feels so damn good !! Not to mention the nurses !!!!!!

my daughter signed at 17 years 6 days, went to basic, broke her leg, came home. is leaving again, she wants to be there. many young adults are going there, i am proud of them all,
