| mp 9mil. http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/smi...-out-there.htm l I've always owned Glocks. glock 23, 17, and 34. My question is since construction work is in the hole, if I go back to Armed Security would u reccommend glock 17, or s@w mp9mil, or something else? I have no smith experience, but know and like the fact if i'm overtaken I can drop the magazine to disengage it. also read it has a handcuff key lock to disengage. What are the pro's and con's of each? would it also be good as an off duty ccw? where a good cheap place to ascertain? just looking for a good understanding? any recomended duty holsters? For the record I have served in US Army, and had correctional officer defensive tactics. thanks in advance for the input. |

| I work as a armed security officer on a anti-terrorist team at a nuclear plant, we all carry a Beretta 92FS as a side arm and a Beretta PX-4 as a back up. The Taurus PT92 has a handcuff type key lock to disengage it. And some people like it better than a Beretta 92FS because it has a safety-decocker on the frame instead of the slide.

| I bought the M&P 9mm last year, and can tell you that it is an incredible firearm. 1000+ rounds of cheap ammo through it with zero failures what-so-ever. I bought mine without a magazine disengage. I felt that in my situation it could only cause problems. If the bad guy gets my gun, I figure I've already lost. From a security standpoint, where your gun may be in the open, dropping your mag if someone reaches for your gun may be essential. The handcuff key lock is kind of neat. The only use I see it for is for storing the gun. If someone gets their hands on it (innocent child or criminal), they won't be able to turn it on you or themselves to cause harm. Anyway, I would definitely recommend the M&P 9mm. If you can, shoot as many guns as possible before making a purchase. What won me over was how the M&P felt in my hand. It was like a 1911, but held 17 rounds of 9mm instead |
