I also got to get all my challenge coins, scan and post them, too. I'm also thinking of posting all my "Life Savers" that I had on my uniform.

For all you non military personnel, "Life Savers" is slang for the ribbons you see on military and some law enforcement uniforms.

Privateer,

THANK YOU!

We all did what we did for love of country, and all share a bond that civilains, the protected, or whatever you choose to call them will not know or sometimes even understand. It's nice to be reminded of that from time to time, and to know that we all stand ready to protect what we cherish.

All the Best,

Dave

Yeah, Ok...
We've met before in Glennallen. I used to work At Kunik's Machine Shop, and Ran it in the Winter when he was outside ...Then went to work for a while at the Gateway Lodge. I've been here in the Copper Valley since '84 !
I guess you Know Ray Craig too.

This has been a great thread. Thanks for starting it, John! It's really nice, to see all my fellow veterans, here, showing where they served, who they served with, and the unity all veterans should feel! God bless, Brothers, this one's for us!! May we all see gentle winds, and following seas, for our remaining days on this earth!

Rich,
I do know Ray, and how is the old fart doing?
I miss AK, but the wife had some medical problems and could no longer stand the cold, so Alabama is where we live now.
A happy wife means a happy life!

Rich,
I was at his retirement party. He is one of those I miss from there. I guess we are a little off topic, but I don't thing it is hurting anything. Stay warm.

Damn John, I guess none of MY contemporaries are represented here !! NO Army joes. I was hoping to make at least a few contacts !! Most of the guys I hung with went to the higher ground. Kind of depressing...

I served from 75-79 and was stationed there for almost 3 years of that time. I left there in 79 and have only been able to make it back on one occasion in 1994. A lot has changed there since 79.

Are you there?

Yes I'm currently here (Cherry Point). I take it you were part of Search and Rescue?

I was a crew chief for Search & Rescue and a NATOPS evaluator for flight crews. Are HH46 tail numbers 150964 & 150948 still in use? Those are the only HH46's stationed there at the time.
Lived in Morehead city for a time and then in the base housing along the highway leading north from havelock.
