Female Sniper Whacks An Insurgant...

I received this today in an email..I cannot find any verification as to it's being a legit story or not..it would not surprise me if it is "legit". We have an abundance of professionally trained, hard-core regulars of the female gender, serving our country today. They all have my respect!!!

On Easter Sunday the ex-cheerleader in the picture, age 19, was watching a road that leads to a NATO military base when she observed a man digging by the road. She engaged the target and she shot him. Turned out he was a bomb maker for the Taliban and he was burying an IED that was to be detonated when a US patrol walked by 30 minutes later. It would have certainly killed and wounded several soldiers.

The shot was measured at 725 yards! She shot him as he was bent over burying the bomb. The shot struck him in the butt and into the bomb which detonated. He was blown to pieces.

The Air Force made a motivational poster using her photo. Her name is Kimmy. To her we say, OOO-Rah! Thanks for your service!

It doesn't matter where this local hemorrhoid was hit by the shot. Dead is Dead!! She saved a patrol from possibly getting wasted, or limbs blown off. That is purpose......... enough.

I may be wrong but when it said the insurgent was bent over I assumed that he was facing away from her. I'd take that shot!!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH RAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! Who ever said our women in uniform can't shoot!??! I ain't gonna second guess why she shot him in the rear, but maybe she only had his "rosie" for a target! Alls well, that ends well! And his end is ended.

Nina Alexeyevna Lobkovskaya.....(WWII, 308 kills)
Roza Yegorovna Shanina.............(WWII, 54 kills)

I delare "Shenanigans". I'm fairly certain that women are not allowed in traditional US Military Sniper Training schools, either Marines or Army. Probably just a posed picture since snipers qualify as Combat and women are precluded from Combat MOS'.

To shoot and hit a man bending over at 700+ yards is a shot any sniper could be proud of.Someone that can do that has both my respect and my thanks for doing an outstanding job of serving our Country.

I'm not saying a women couldn't make that shot (I'm certain there are many women that could), but I'm going to call bull on the story. Too much of it doesn't make sense. For one thing, I'm not sure if a women can even be a sniper in the US Army/Marines. Secondly, explosives being set off by impact is possible, but may be unlikely.

Anyway, part of me wants to believe, and Russian Female Sniper history proves it's possible, but part of me feels that the story isn't true.

You could be right, Rambo, we will need to wait and see what we or others come up with? We are currently trying to find, additional information on this story and photo...as I previously indicated in my original post. I don't think the story indicated she attended "a sniper school"?

Some cases in point...OJT (on the job training)..has been used in the military service, at least since... I was in. That is (40) plus years ago. My first Military Police training was OJT as there were no police schools to be sent to, as today. Years ago...a retired LE friend of mine, hired on a local PD, was issued his gear, and put in a patrol car and told.."you will learn", as he attended daytime police academy training at a school. OJT training is now used in many cases, with a probationary officer with an FTO (Field Training Officer), with most PD's. Civilian Police Academys, back then... were only (8) weeks duration, with only a high school diploma needed for hiring on. Much different today with all the required training certificates and required hours / credits of schooling necessary to even get an application or for any "consideration" to be hired on.

In a theatre of war, current policies are sometimes set aside, and stretched....for other training, such as... "special ops" (special operations). Some (OJT) are not highly publicized and have been authorized on a company commander level. Get the job done is the political arena today, and get it done by male, female, or ...whatever works. This is a..... WAR Zone.

Respectfully speaking...Never..... say.... or "declare"... never...'til all the facts are in, and substantuated.!

Myself...I do not care much for eating...... crow...., and I have ate quite a few plates over the years.... but sometimes it's the only plate of the day for those with quick trigger-fingers. I choose to wait and see...

Rambo - Bravo; Looks like you win the cigar... I think I have tracked this photo down...just posting the truth about it. Click on the image at the left of your screen for the true story...Looks like she is indeed...an "Air Force" sniper with possible qualifications to be such.

It's hard telling whether it is true or not. The photo does tell a little of the story however, as it says "Security Forces" The post said, "on military base", and not of what branch. The USAF does train women in the Security Forces as Snipers. As for the Army or Marine Corp. I'm not certain. Below is a link regarding the first woman graduate for sniper training.
The bomb detonating could have happened by any number of ways depending on the arming device being used..
Back to shot placement,,,I guess texas heart shots work in the middle east as well I would have taken it.

Is this a new caliber? Is this a revolver load or auto loader? Would you choose one for CCW? Who makes CCW guns in this caliber?
