Cool Gulf war syndrome?

Got a letter from the VA today and they want me to go in for a
Gulf war syndrome test and blood work/finger wave ect.ect.
And they wand to do a DU test also cause I got a chance to work
around some CIWS systems. I wonder if I can use chemical exposure also
such as MEK (methylethylketone) ,Trike( Trichloroethyelene) and PD-680?
Been suffering with Lower back pain and muscle cramps and spasms alond
with heart desease, apnea, and diabetes. But trying to get anything
done here is impossible at best and they act as if you owe them money.

have you ever checked out the videos on youtube about DU exposure and gulf war syndrome?
i'm sorry that you have to go through all of this nonsense.
you would think that after risking your life and fighting for the country you love you would be treated with a little respect.

Agree

Our military personnel can and do suffer exposure to a vast chemical
spectrum both related to combat and from simply being in regions for which no chemical safety regulation has ever existed. Combining the two leaves the thought of yet another round of unknown chemical interactions.

So, we as a society must come to understand the chemical assault on a soldier can be greater than the immediate physical wound for which one gets a purple heart.

It is time to quit debating the reality of syndrome illnesses and start providing the appropriate levels of respect and care for those suffering
unexpected conditions for the duration of their lives.

Paul T, it is sad the way they seem to turn out disposable troops by exposing them to this chemical soup. And the way they try to cover it up by labeling the soldier a nut case. Herein lies your gun rights, so be careful, as you would be with the enemy, when you are there. The whole region is radioactive for decades, they just will not accept the truth that it is very hazardous to our troops. Stay mentally crisp with those people, do not accept any stress medication from them. Go to the The Power Hour and contact Dr Joyce Riley, she is a former army nurse that specializes in GWS, you need special detoxification programs, the VA will just try meds.
Thank you for doing your job well, but our govt hasn't done their job at all.

What chaps my butt is that 'retired' Congressmen, as in serving at least one term, get free medical care in the best hospitals for life. You can bet that they get much better treatment than our Vets.

They're doing much better, than they were thirty years ago. It takes time, to catch up to each group of returning vets, and get them into the system. If anyone at the VA treats you with any kind of disrespect, talk to their supervisor. They are there to serve vets, not treat them with disrespect!

Unfortunately Vets have never really oganized as a political group. I know some have but not most. If the Vets and their families and friends were to get together on the subject of Vet care and benefits I believe things would get better, much better.

Now, that's an idea! We need to run it by Chris, though, and see what he thinks. There are a lot of veterans on here! And we're spread out, and cover a lot of territory. We could be a force to be reckoned with, if we got together!

Yes, it does! Unfortunately, all of our "service veteran associations" seem to all turn out the same: They don't do anything, they sell life insurance policies at inflated rates, and they provide a sinecure for retired generals and E-9s... The others run money-losing bars and publish mostly worthless magazines.

Give us a REAL, politically-active, nonprofit United States Veterans Association and we'll join in droves.
