We ole salts are well represented! I was initiated into the secrets of the deep onboard the USS Ranger, on the way back to the Gulf of Tonkin. About twenty of us polliwogs met the carrier at Singapore, and did they ever have fun with us!! Twenty 'wogs beset by an entire carriers crew!! It hurt for days afterward, and made the cat-shots almost unbearable. Yes, I was an aircrew member before I was a Seabee. On EA3-B's, whales to you flight deck jocks. It was an experience I'd not take a million bucks for!! Qualified for a centurion patch, and had 1400+ hours under my belt.

Good golly, Privateer! Did you ever make it to Holy Loch during '76? We may have crossed paths there. I was on the Seabee detachment that was renovating the base. Tipped a few in the EM club, and a few more in the ACEY-DEUCY club.
