Wiily,

Back in the mid 70s when Dade County Florida was a drug war zone I was sent by our department and spent a whole month with the Coast Guard out of Destin, Florida (between Ft. Walton Beach and Destin Florida).

I used to chuckle at the Coast Guard and they're role in the fight for peace.

But, after that week I will never, NEVER, again make light of the CG's role.

It was the first time in my life that I saw that the CG may be on a different front but just as treacherous a front...maybe even more in some respects.

I went out with them on a Cruiser (actually it was smaller than a Navy cruiser but I forget the class now) and I saw things that month I thought were inflated 'war stories'. Now I know better.

By the way, the chow on there was great.

My hat's off to you Willy.........SALUTE!

Yeah, we had daily messages on AFRTS used to be FEN about where not to go that day. Got to be easier just to confine yourself to base voluntarily.
