| Shooting NATO 9mm in P1 OK?
I picked-up a box of 9mm with NATO specs (124gr FMJ - 1,299 f.p.s. at muzzle). Would you shoot that in your P1 or is that a little too "hot"?

I think your ok to shoot NATO rounds. They are'nt Hydro-Shock are they? They Would probably be too hard on it. Another thing to consider is: Does your P-1 have the reiforcing pin in the frame? My post-war P38 does not have the pin so I'm a little more particular about what I shoot throught it. I've seen pics. of broken frames caused by either shooting too hot of rounds (in a P-1 wo/reinforcing pin) and or by putting in too heavy re-coil springs as replacements for originals. To be safe I'd ask a gunsmith familar w/P-1s and 38s. |

Thank you for your reply, Hahn! The picture of the broken frame P38 made me shiver, yikes! My P1 is updated. I posted some pictures in the other thread "Pictures of my new P1" if you would like to take a look. Thanks again for your reply!
