Question PPk problem

A friend has a PPK that won't close when the clip is in. Doesn't seem to be hitting the clip because there's no burr or scratch on the clip. Can't seem to figure out why the slide won't close. Can't see any burrs or scratches
anywhere. I thought there would be some burr or scratch on something
where there has been metal to metal contact. Any help will be appreciated. Also have tried another clip. Same problem.

Is the clip empty? May have a rod that keeps slide open after last shot.

No the clip is full and it won't close. Doesn't appear to hit the clip and stop.
Its hitting something else. Like I said there is no scratches or burrs on the clip and we even used another clip. He's shot this gun before and it just started doing this
and we can't figure it out.

i know this seems like a stupid question, but are you sure you have the right ammo for the gun...

check inside the chamber for build up of carbon...

make sure the barrel if in alignment with the slide...

take gun completely apart clean it and then reassemble to see if everything was in the right places in side the gun... make sure he inspects every moveable piece...

The barrel is clean. I sprayed breakfree all through the action and he had already cleaned the barrel. Its not even making it to the cartridge. It looks like it stops
before it gets to the clip. Yes we are trying the right ammo. Federal 95 gr. FMJ
is probably the only thing he has ever shot in it. I stripped the gun down like
you would for cleaning.
