If your going to hunt bigger game than deer chose the 06, if your only hunting deer you won't notice much differance between the two.

If you've got,or can borrow a rifle to hunt with this deer season,I would recomend you waiting til around Christmas for buying a used gun.You will have to pay top dollar for one this close to season.

Can't go wrong with a 270 or a 30-06. Both are awesome calibers and both are found at any Wal-Mart or anywhere so avalibility of ammo is good, and the power is good enough for deer. Take your pick. Neither one will let you down. Hope you like what you get and I hope it serves you well for many years to come!

I would take an 06 over a .270, but I would take a .308 over both. If it were me, I'd go Reminton 700, wither all tricked out alreadsy, or a plain Jain ready for your personal touch.

Both 270 and 30-06 are very good hunting calibers. Take your pick.... A good Savage, Howa, Remington, Tikka, Winchester, all are of good quality.

I have a Winchester 270 pre 64 action, feather weight with BOSS. Rifle has a Ziess Diavari-C 3-9 X36 scope. Rifle has only had 20 rounds through it and I purchased the rifle new.

well a 270. is a nice low recoil accurate gun. A 270. can kill a lot of animals not really big animals like bear or maybe caribou. A 30-06 is a big recoil not as accurate gun. It could take anything from hogs to bears.

The .270 has a fantastic following but I . . .

. . . would prefer the .30-06 due to the wide variety of bullet loadings
that can successfully be fired from the gun.

However, if it is deer you will never feel short changed by the .270.
