First off, and this is only my opinion, if you're going to carry it in the open, as well as trust your life with it, if it were me, I'd get something else other then a Hi-Point. I don't say this to start anything or to be a jerk. They are not the greatest of firearms. Some do like them, others do not. Some will say they've never had a problem, others will say they have had nothing but problems. I can say, you can get a decent Rock Island for around $400 bucks. Entirely up to you and it is your life. I've seen Hi-Points going for like $120 bucks. Personally, my life is worth more than that and if it were me, I'd spend a little more to protect my life. If you're interested, here's a link with a few different Rock Island's, $369.99, $399.99 or $419.99. Centerfire Systems - 1911 Yes, you could go with something like what LeftHand suggested or what about also or rigging something directly up to the wheel chair? As for the UTG they are well made. I have that same exact one left hand linked. Fits my Glock model 35 very well. I took it with me to a gun shop near me and it also fit a .45acp commander as well as a Beretta model 92 very well. And even though you have 19 posts, I'm not sure if I already said hello and welcomed you to the site or not, soooo, just in case, I'll say it now. HELLO and WELCOME TO G&G. lol Good luck on your hunt ofr a holster, I do think that UTG (Under The Gun) one Left Hand linked, and I do have that same one, would work fine. I'm more concerned for you having a Hi-Point... for you. lol

Good to know you plan on upgrading. Anyhow, in the mean time, that holster Left Hand linked would be great. But did you give any thought to somehow or maybe mounting a holster directly to the wheelchair? Not sure what kind you have or if there's even any space to do it? Where in Wisconsin are you? You don't have to be exact, just an area. Like are you near or in Kenosha or Pleasant Prairie or farther north like near the Dells or Green Bay or something like that? I'm just curious is all. Because your profile or by your avatar shows/says Wisconsin and the last I knew, none of Wisconsin, like Illinois, has a CCW. Unless Wisconsin passed one and I missed the news flash? But as I said, last I know, both Illinois and Wisconsin were the only 2 states with no kind of CCW law what so ever...

Thanks Glockmeister. Im in Amery, North West Wisconsin. You are correct that Wisconsin does not have a ccw here they made it illegal to carry concealed so open carry is the only way. The Wisconsin Supreme court decided that if concealed carry is illegal then Wisconsin has to allow us to open carry since the right to bear arms is in the 2nd ammendment and no state can take that right away. The problem is the LEO's sometimes harass those who carry by giving out tickets for disorderly conduct or disturbing the peace. Some will even confiscate the weapon and then it may take years to get it back. Even our Govenor said if you want to carry in Wisconsin then wear it on your hip. The problem here is the general public is not used to seeing citizens open carrying so they call the police with a man with a gun and according to the local LEO's thats considered disturbing the peace if I alarmed any one in carrying. Its going to be a long battle but we will eventually get there. I use a Hoveround GT and I probably could mount a holster on it. I will try and see if I can make one work. So Far I still have the bid on ebay and it will end today. If I get out bid I have found a few more on ebay. Again thanks for your concern. Jimi |
