Weatherby Vanguard or Howa 1500 ?

i've recently sold a rifle and am wanting to replace the one i've lost with another in .22-250. The two rifles i am considering are the Weatherby Vanguard or the Howa 1500. Can i get some feedback from some of you to who own either of these rifles ?

I do, basically same action i prefer Weatherby stocks over the Howas. The scope comes with Howa is useless so take it into concideration. Other then that its same critter more or less

I own two of the Howas in 223 and 243. Ive been exceptionally happy with them both. I added Timney triggers to both and it helped considerably.

I bought them with the Nighteater scopes which are decent scopes (not fantastic, but work well for the purpose), and the rifles also have the Hogue overmolded stocks. It was a package deal, and I cant say anything negative about the rifles other than the triggers, which took about 10 minutes to retrofit.

Thanks or the info. I went down to the local Walmart a few days ago and made my choice. The .22-250 Weatherby Vanguard was the pick. I'll get a scope for it soon and fire away.

Do you plan to deer hunt with the new 22-250 in Oklahoma? I used one for two years deer hunting. I shot one of them real high in the neck, it was looking right at me from maybe 40 yards away. That little 55gr bullet did a fine job. This year I'll be using my .308, that is if I hunt.

Howa/1500 270

I want to buy a nice rifle for whitetail season in CO. I have been pricing guns for a couple of weeks and was introduced to the Howa today and have read alot of things about this weapon. I kinda wanted a 308 but, from what I understand the 270 will work just as well. Any input about this brand would be great. Thanks everybody..
